The Beautiful Garden of Prayer ~ Hymn

The Beautiful Garden of Prayer

There’s a garden where Jesus is waiting,
There’s a place that is wondrously fair,
For it glows with the light of His presence.
’Tis the beautiful garden of prayer.

Refrain

Oh, the beautiful garden, the garden of prayer!
Oh, the beautiful garden of prayer!
There my Savior awaits, and He opens the gates
To the beautiful garden of prayer.

There’s a garden where Jesus is waiting,
And I go with my burden and care,
Just to learn from His lips words of comfort
In the beautiful garden of prayer.

Refrain

There’s a garden where Jesus is waiting,
And He bids you to come, meet Him there;
Just to bow and receive a new blessing
In the beautiful garden of prayer.

Refrain

Words: Eleanor Allen Schroll, in Hymns for Today (Fillmore Bros. Co., 1920).

  1. Ellen…that is wonderful! I love reading old songs and singing old favorite hymns. I shared with my mother on our long drive to see the newest granddaughter of your sharing songs etc. that always lifted me up! AND here you go again!

I wanted to tell you also, since I remembered you like fleamarket finds/antique finds that my sisters and mother will be going away this weekend to a b&b–and plundering to our hearts content at second hand store/flea market/antique mall. It is a combo of all. It is great. The last time we were able to go there—we spent about 3 hours inside!!!!

We each came out w/a little goodie!

So I will think of you and take a few pics to share!

    Be blessed Ellen!!

Angie, Thank you and I’m looking forward to hearing about your adventures and finds! Blessings…

  2. I can only echo what the others have already said – that is just beautiful! Both the photo and the hymn, and of course, His beautiful garden of prayer.

  3. Ellen, Girl, You and I will be in the garden with Jesus for many years in eternity. I love gardens and to meet Jesus there is the best part of my day.

    Lovely.

Lynn, Won’t that be the best!! Blessings on you….

  4. The words are peaceful and comforting as is the beautiful colors in the picture. Do you sing these hymns at a church you attend or are they in a hymnal you have? I’ve always “wondered” this 😐
