You can call this motivation to get going or an antidote to mild depression…
Step away from your computer and go find one of these in your house…
Now set it for 15 minutes. Walk to the sink and wash any dishes that might be dirty and do any general clean-up until the buzzer or bell goes off.
I guarantee you that you will be amazed at what you can get done in a mere 15 minutes. I think you’ll feel better about yourself and your house. Once you get into this you can try doing it once every hour. You might even consider increasing the time to 30 minutes. Once you get to the 30 minute activity time try going out and walking…
This always amazes me and works for me. I hope it will work for you too! Now head over to Rocks in my Dryer to see more tips.
Any photos missing from my posts are the result of Photobucket blacking out all my photos that I stored on their site since 2006.
I needed this – I should do this LOTS more. I get glued to the computer and can’t seem to get anything else done. Then I’m frustrated I don’t have anything to show for my efforts! Thanks!
Love it! Good Night!
You know, I used to do this and got out of the habit. I’m so glad for the reminder! You’re right, it’s just amazing how much can be done in just a few minutes.
Thanks!
Oh my gosh are we twins separated at birth? I live my life by the egg timer. It’s the only way I’ll ever shower.
I use my timer all the time, and you are right, you can actually get a lot done in 15 minutes. It seems like such a short amount of time, but you can accomplish a lot in 15 minutes. Thanks for the reminder.
Oh yeah! I am definitely a big fan of the timer. At least for my children. ha! I have them use it all the time (while I sit happily at the computer).
Love you pictures. 🙂

That was supposed to be:
Love YOUR pictures.
I’m obviously a little tired. Ha!
Step away from the computer??? :O
Thanks for the timer suggestion. I used to do that at one point and it did work. I use the timer on my microwave.
Okay, I’m gonna go do it right now!
What a great simple idea ~ Maybe instead of walking, computer time motivates me.

Oh my gosh, I’m just like what Karen @FamilyBriefs posted. Once I get on the computer, I’m glued. LOL I will have to start doing the 15 min timer thing. It would help me a lot to get some stuff done around the house. But then, don’t we all! LOL
Blessings,
Sappho
Seems like I’ve heard this before–“You can do anything for fifteen minutes!” Of course, it’s true.
I’m like your first commenter here as well. This would be a good thing to do!
It is so true! 15 minutes is do-able and you really can accomplish more than you think in that time. You must know about Fly Lady, lol.
I SOOO need a new timer. I could use it for so many thing!! We use this same method with the kids sometimes – we’ll send them to their room for fifteen minutes to see how much they can get done before the time is up.
What a great idea! I’m definitely going to start doing this.
Awesome – I am going to have to remember this one and even pass it on to my daughter! thx
We like timers around there too!
It IS amazing what you can accomplish in 15 minutes! And if you keep your sink shiny, everything else seems to fall in place!
Great idea! I usually read blogs with the tv on. I don’t know what’s on the tv but when a commercial comes on I get up and do stuff. When the show returns, I come back and read some more.
I should use the timer instead. lol
Thanks for the tip!
