Wednesday Warnings…

In the midst of Thanksgiving preparations we are getting daily updates about an impending wind storm that is supposed to hit us on Wednesday. I decided to do a little baking on Tuesday and wash some clothes and do other things that involve power. Let’s hope since we are getting so many warnings it won’t be as bad as they say.

Northern Panhandle-Coeur d`Alene Area-Northeast Mountains-Including the cities of Sandpoint, Rathdrum, Bonners Ferry, Priest River, Eastport, Coeur d`Alene, Post Falls, Hayden, Worley, Colville, Deer Park, Chewelah, Newport, and Kettle Falls
HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING.
* WHAT…Northeast winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible.
* WHERE…In Washington, Northeast Mountains. In Idaho, Northern Panhandle and Coeur d`Alene Area.
* WHEN…From Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening.
* IMPACTS…Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Strongest winds are expected down the Highway 95 corridor from Sandpoint to Coeur D`Alene.
We won’t have it as hard as those first Pilgrims did when they landed in what is now Massachusetts even if we lose power.
The thing about our country bungalow is that everything…everything depends on electricity, even our well water.
Hoping for the best but planning on the worst.
I suppose I should also mention that our mornings have been starting in the low twenties or teens and only warming up to about 27 -33 degrees.
Speaking of power and light…From God is the Gospel by John Piper:
“The ultimate aim of the incarnation was that through Christ people would see the Lordship of Christ and the glory of God. The whole story of Christ’s incarnate life and death and resurrection was the brightest beam of glory that has ever shone down from the brightness of God. When the gospel story is rightly proclaimed, that glory is displayed.”
Happy Thanksgiving Eve to our friends and family in the U.S.A.
