Marilyn at Mountain Top Spice blog had a generous giveaway of Lorrie’s freshly published book called Life is Short but Wide, a memoir of life in Ecuador. Lorrie’s blog is called Fabric Paper Thread. I won the giveaway and the book arrived this week.

If you haven’t visited either of these blogs, I think you’d enjoy them. I haven’t read Lorrie’s book yet but I know she writes well and it will be interesting.
To round out the end of July we had this handsome buck visit.

My friend Linda knows I enjoy jigsaw puzzles and she gifted me this acrylic puzzle. It was fun to put the pieces together into the round frame! Once the pieces are in there are little plastic screws to hold the two clear rounds together and to lock in the pieces. It comes with hooks and a chain to hang it.

Goodbye to July and welcome to August! Hope your weekend is off to a good start.
Well done on winning the book. I’ve loved the excerpts I’ve already read. Love the puzzle too. What a clever idea. B x
Congrats on winning Lorrie’s boo! She is such an engaging writer. We have family who have also lived in Ecuador and know the places Lorrie writes about. I’ve ordered the book and look forward to reading it too. I read your blog regularly, but don’t think I’ve ever commented before. Happy August to you and yours!
Nice to ‘meet’ you and thanks for letting me know your visit here. Happy August to you, too!
Love that puzzle! I’ll have to look for that. Would make a nice gift.
…goodbye Joyous July and welcome Awesome August.
