Daylilies

I did a lot of weeding on Monday and I was surprised at the many varieties of daylilies that are in our yard.

I don’t remember seeing all these varieties in years past.

This pretty butterfly sat long enough for me to capture a photo.

Here’s a closeup of the butterfly.

We have had a nice variety of butterflies in our yard but they flit about and I’m not close enough to get photos when they land somewhere. I might have to sit outside with my camera for a while to try to catch the other varieties.

My fingers and arms are complaining from all the pulling and tugging of the weeds in our beds. It looks better but the job is far from done.

Hope you all have a good day.

  1. I love seeing your beautiful variety of daylilies, Ellen. And that butterfly on the last one is lovely. I’m with you on getting the garden weeded. A gardener’s work is never done is it? Especially in this heat!

  2. Beautiful daylilies Ellen. Great shot of the butterfly too. I need to plant some perennials around this “new to me” house. For now it’s mostly grasses and easy care shrubs – thankfully!

  3. What a lovely variety of colors in your daylillies, Ellen. Glad that you were able to be out doing the weeding and such, but I also understand that the following day tends to let us know that we just used muscles that we don’t use on a daily basis…or at least to that extent.
