On Thursdays my posts will include verses that stood out in my readings from the Bible during the week. One, two, three or maybe more. 2 Peter 1: 16-21
“For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For when he received honor and glory from God the Father , and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased, we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain. And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
Isaiah 55: 9-11
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth;
it shall not return to me empty, but it will accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

I read this a few days ago and it’s still in my mind: Psalm 50:3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.
Reminds us that the time is shorter and shorter for spreading the Gospel.
I’ve been reading Job this week and this verse popped out at me.
Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.
So good to have a Redeemer who is alive and seated at the right hand of the Father!

I took some time to catch up with your blog and to read about what was happening in your world while I was having visitors/celebrating/recuperation in mine. It looks like your Christmas was lovely. So happy that all of your kids were able to be with you despite some challenges! Katie’s birthday cake looked delicious and so pretty. Happy birthday to her! And, wow . . . you have had quite the snow/ice! Hope you’re staying warm and enjoying those puzzles!
