A while back we decided that our family room would work better if we moved out the wood stove which we have never used and don’t intend to use and move things around to flow better.
Before we moved the wood stove out the TV sat on a corner cabinet close to the slider which was the only available spot.
The new arrangement. Blame it on COVID. It’s something good that has come from it for our comfort.
The recliner by the slider patio door will be leaving once we find a good home for it.
More of a straight shot to the kitchen from my end of the sofa! We are really enjoying the openness of this arrangement and the fact that the TV is tucked in nicely to a larger corner.
Hello,
I like your new updated family room. We hardly use our wood stove, unless our power goes out and we need heat. I like the curtains and rug and colors of your new family room. Enjoy your day, wishing you a happy weekend!
Hello Eileen, we will be using that wood stove in Dear’s new shop. Thank you for visiting and commenting!
…you have a talented guy there!
Tom…I do appreciate all his talents!
Getting furniture arranged just so you like it can take some thinking and time. Your new set up looks good.
Lorrie, COVID allowed me all that time in that particular room and the idea was born. Thank you for your visit here.
It looks great!
Looks nice, Ellen. I love a woodstove and wish that I had one, but if you’re not ever going to use it, you made a good choice. The arrangement looks great…very cozy and welcoming.
The wood stove is going into Dear’s new shop and that will come in handy for him when he wants to work out there in the winter!
It all looks nice and I like the straight shot into the kitchen. With the wood stove out of there gives you more options. I must say though I would miss the fire, we have a gas one and use it often.
Karen, we can still enjoy fires at our son’s home. I’m enjoying that straight shot to the kitchen!
That looks beautiful! It really makes a big difference in the layout of the room, I love it.
Thank you Cindy, we are enjoying it.
I love the openness of the room, and if you’re not planning on using the wood stove, why not?! Great move! Isn’t it funny how, all of a sudden, an idea will spring to life and it’s SO much better?
Cheryl, It’s good when my better half goes along with what pops into my head, too. 🙂
