1. The Hodgepodge lands on the second day of a brand new month. Tell us one thing you’re looking forward to in September.
Looking forward to the beginning of Fall and all the events we will enjoy with family near and far.
2. Do you enjoy browsing second-hand shops? Last thing you bought or ‘inherited’ second hand?
Yes, please. This is our latest purchase from the Red Barn in Colville back in April.
3. Something you had second thoughts about after committing to, purchasing, or posting/commenting online?
I’ve gotten pretty good at not committing to things. I might be having second thoughts about purchasing an instant pot since I’m such a creature of habit in the cooking world. What we’ve made in it has turned out real good but I haven’t used it in about 3 weeks now.
4. What’s a product or service you use that you’d rate as second to none?
Amway scrub buds and their Pre-Wash spray.
5. Something you do so often or that comes so naturally to you it’s second nature ?
Creating a post for my blog. Coming up with a meal even if I haven’t defrosted something. Not saying the results are always stellar…
6. Insert your own random thought here.
Mornings in our neck of the woods have already felt very fallish.
Thank you to Joyce From This Side of the Pond coming up with the questions. Click over to to join in the fun.
…change is underway here too!
I hear you on the InstaPot. I am not using mine as much as I should be. I keep saying that I am going to plan to make something in at least once a week. Well at least I think about it.
Meals are kind of hit and miss here so if I get to better planning I might use it more.
I knew you would have LOTS to share about second hand shops. Love that ‘new’ hutch.
I think I’m going to have to NOT commit to anything the rest of this year–except of course, the buying of a home.
Willow, good idea not to commit and I’m sure your daughters will keep you busy enough in between looking at homes!
Usually Sept. means TIFF for me. But this year it’s totally altered, a virtual one. So, it’s another ‘staycation’ for me in Sept. 🙂
Arti, good thing for google so I could figure out what TIFF was. Sorry you won’t be able to do that in person.
Haha, sorry didn’t explain myself clearly. I go to Toronto for it every Sept. and write reviews. 🙂
Fun to read your answers. 🙂
Did you purchase the hutch because, if you did, it’s beautiful. Some would paint it, not you nor I! ☺️ The Instant Pot doesn’t get much attention here either, but I do love those hard boiled eggs. Happy September 🌻
No painting that hutch. We didn’t inherit this one we bought it second hand. Happy September to you, too!
Love that hutch! … And the Regulator clock. Reminds me, I need to unwrap ours and see if it doesn’t need some professional attention. While I prefer the slow cooker to my instant pot, have to admit it (the latter) rocks at sauting veggies.
Thanks for your visit and comment, Myra!
It’s 90 degrees here today. We had a tiny taste of fall last week and September is normally not as humid. I think everyone is just ready to move into a new season. I haven’t tried an instapot. I don’t think I want another countertop appliance to deal with, although people seem to love them.
Jo, even though the mornings have been cool we’ve had temps in the 90’s, too. Thanks for stopping by…
That looks like a Welsh Dresser, awesome find and displayed perfectly. I’m glad it’s found a good home. Know what? I’d paint it,lol, we’re all different.
It would look great painted, too, but hubby has enough painting projects around this country bungalow. Thanks for your visit and comment!
What wonderful hutch!!! I have a similar one, not so beautiful as yours.I love yours and mine!Hugs!
Thank you Maristella!
Coming up with meals is definitely NOT second nature for me! I’m improving as a cook though. That hutch is gorgeous. What a great find. This week has felt fairly “fallish” in Connecticut too. It’s been nice!

Hi Jan, thanks for your visit and comment. I’m looking forward to fallish and fall!
Did you buy that hutch? Enjoyed your answers and I like your doormat.
Yes, we bought that hutch, cleaned it up and are enjoying it.
Beautiful hutch and I love your doormat. I love the cooler mornings. We have had a few here but I don’t think summer is done just yet. Have a great week 🙂
Yep, Theresa, we are having fall mornings and hot summer afternoons still. Thanks for stopping by.
No fall feels here yet, but I am ready! (Enough with the heat and humidity!) What a great thrifted find . . . it’s wonderful! I wish I had your ease/speed with blog posts!
Cheryl, hope you get a cooling trend soon.
