Christ Is Risen!
Christ Is Risen! He Is Risen Indeed!
ХРИСТОС ВОСКРЕС! ВОИСТИНУ ВОСКРЕС!
Khris-tos Vos-kres! Vo-isti-nu Vos-kres!
Blessings to all on this Glorious Easter Day!
One of my favorite Easter hymns growing up was Low in the Grave He lay. You just have to hear it sung in a church full of Russian Baptists! (In Russian of course) This song is sung with emotion and joy that can’t be missed.
Low in the Grave He Lay
Low in the grave He lay, Jesus my Savior,
Waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!
Refrain
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!
Vainly they watch His bed, Jesus my Savior;
Vainly they seal the dead, Jesus my Lord!
Refrain
Death cannot keep its Prey, Jesus my Savior;
He tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!
Up from the grave He arose,
With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah! Christ arose!
Words & Music: Robert Lowry, 1874.
We are going to an Easter Brunch at our new church before our Easter morning service. Later we will be taking grilled lamb and scalloped potatoes to the Eastside kids’ home for a small Easter celebration.
Happy Easter everyone!
I’d have to say that this was one of my very favorite, if not my favorite hymns for Easter.
Have a glorious day today ~ FlowerLady

Hallelujah! He has indeed risen!
We didn’t get to sing this hymn this Easter, but I’m enjoying this rendition very well. Love the joy on each singer’s face. He is risen indeed!
