At Home

I’m starting to get things ready for the 4th of July. With the 4th landing on a Tuesday this year I’m not sure what we will do or who we might have over. We are having out of town guests the middle of July and I’ll just keep the red, white and blue theme going.

The white hydrangeas are well ahead of the the other ones in the yard. I still need to fill a hanging basket with some flowers. I’m on the lookout for a nice Fuchsia. Our northern neighbors are getting ready for Canada Day. Do you decorate for the 4th or for Canada Day?

  1. I will decorate for Canada Day with a Canadian flag. Ditto for American flags on the 4th of July. The weather, big surprise, is not expected to cooperate.

  2. What lovely decorations and your flowers are beautiful! We aren’t sure what we are doing on the Fourth of July too. Maybe just a quiet cook out and going to fireworks later.πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

  3. Awww – so pretty Ellen. You always decorate for festive occasions so nicely. We have done a bit of Canada Day decor this year because it’s a special birthday for our country. Usually we don’t do much decorating for this. We should be more patriotic!

  4. I don’t really decorate much for holidays, but we do keep an American flag up year round. Your home looks lovely all decorated for the 4th! I have company here for several weeks, and it is just a pretty busy summer πŸ™‚

  5. We will fly a Canada flag this year. πŸ™‚ That’s about it. But our table decor and food all ‘spells’ Canada Day! I’ve just started bringing in the hydrangeas;they make such nice bouquets.

  6. Hi Ellen, Your flowers look so pretty — I love those cheerful snapdragons. πŸ˜€ Your Fourth of July decs look very patriotic. We decorate for the 4th here in North Carolina, but this year I’m behind on all that stuff, unfortunately. We’ll still celebrate though. πŸ™‚

I hope you and your family have a safe and happy Fourth of July, Ellen!

    Warm hugs,

    Denise

  7. Happy 4th of July, Ellen. We don’t decorate much for Canada Day. But we do celebrate! We hope to see the fireworks downtown this year, and otherwise have a quiet barbecue meal at home.
