Jesus Loves Me ~ Sunday Hymn

Jesus loves me 002

Jesus Loves Me

Jesus loves me! This I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! He who died,
Heaven’s gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! loves me still,
When I’m very weak and ill;
From His shining throne on high,
Comes to watch me where I lie.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! He will stay,
Close beside me all the way;
He’s prepared a home for me,
And some day His face I’ll see.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

  1. My mum and I sing this as our last song on Saturday mornings when I visit to sing with her. She remembers the words to all the old hymns and sings them with gusto, but this one is always special.

  2. Who was the famous theologian who, when asked about his favorite hymn, said, “Jesus Loves Me”? I can not remember. Why am I always off googling something after visiting you!

  3. My Mom use to sing Jesus Loves Me to us while rubbing our backs, if we had trouble sleeping or woke with bad dreams. Many of her grandchildren remember her singing this as well, when they stayed overnight.
    I had the privilege to be with my brother as he was passing and this is what I sang to him. Simple in it’s words but powerful and comforting. Thank you for sharing all the verses.
