…the sorrow those who loved Jesus Christ felt on the day in between his death and resurrection.
I can imagine Angels were guarding His body as it laid in the tomb.
I’m so thankful we know the rest of the story and we are not of those who despair.
1 Peter 1:3-9 (ESV)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Looking forward to Easter Sunday and celebrating our hope with millions of people around the world.
Such a beautiful prayer – Amen! Thankfully there is Easter Sunday!!!
Amen! Happy Easter to you and your family!
Happy Easter, Ellen and family!
Makes me think of the Christmas song “Mary did you know?” Have a wonderfully blessed Easter
I’ve been thinking about that week. So many promises spoken and then He dies. I can not imagine the emotions, or even the absence of emotions as they face the reality of His death. We know the end of the story, however they did get the perk of seeing Him after death…we must believe that by faith. But oh those days in between…wow, that’s a lot to try and process. Joyous Easter Ellen!
Hope you and your family have a very Happy & Blessed Easter, Ellen!
