It was nice having the majority of our children around over the 4 day Thanksgiving Holiday. We are looking forward to seeing Katie and Andrew the day after Christmas for the majority of their trip to the West. They will be in Salt Lake City for 4 days before they continue their flight to Seattle.
I made my first dutch baby the morning after Thanksgiving. I will definitely make it again. This one had blueberries in it. The photo ofย our 3 kids above was taken on the same day at our favorite Mexican restaurant. And yes, we ate our way through the 4 days…
All the Christmas containers are down from the attic. Now I need to decide what to put up. We won’t be getting our tree until the weekend of the 8th.
How’s Christmas decorating shaping up at your house?
So you KNOW I had to Google what a Dutch baby is. I had never heard of that before. The ingredients make it sound good along with your photos. I love blueberries, so mmmmmmmmm! ๐
I have just about finished up my holiday decorating. I got an early start since I was teaching Christmas tablescaping and had all the bins pulled out already. Glad to be done, although I will most likely do a bit more tweaking before the first party of the season.
I hope to get my tree up this coming weekend!
And we ate thru the holidays too…..and it was delish!
I love Dutch Babies and your post has reminded me that it has been far too long. John finds them “heavy.” Not I! Never tried them with blueberries, but that sounds very, very good.
Glad that you had a good Thanksgiving and hope that soon all three will be together again even if it is a bit after Christmas. Christmas comes when we need it most.
How my decorating is shaping up? Slowly…bit by bit. One has to stay home to put the decor in place, it seems. The outside is done…and looking a bit like Christmas.
I have the recipe for Dutch babies in a file here, ready to try. I’ve never made them before either. Yum.
Your Dutch baby looks good! You have a lovely family, Ellen! It must have been nice to have almost all your children together for Thanksgiving.. I’m glad Katie and Andrew will be there for Christmas!
I am not decorating this year as I have all my decorations packed away for our move. I will have to enjoy everyone else’s decorations and wait for next year–it will be a surprise when I open my bins next year as they have had so little use the past few years ..lol!
I have never heard of Dutch Baby – I will have to look that up!
Decorating – I just can’t seem to get in gear this year….have the outside done but not a thing inside – eek!! I better start soon.
Majority wins – so glad you are getting the majority of the share :). I simply can’t wait till my family is all together again at Christmas.
Just looked up the Dutch Baby recipe – it looks wonderful and I know I’m going to love making this!! Learning something new every day :).
Love Dutch Babies — esp with ripe peaches. As for Christmas decorations? Uh… still painting.
Dutch Babies are best plain then add a bunch of powdered sugar and squeeze lemon all over it!
A momma’s heart is hard to explain to those who aren’t a mom. That picture made my heart happy for you! So glad Katie and Andrew are heading west in December. I have never heard of a Dutch Baby, I will have to go in search of a recipe to see what that is. Our girls love to decorate our house for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving, so it is all done for me. I appreciate that help. I know someday they will have their own homes and families and we will have to down size how we decorate but they pull it all out and help me set it all in place. We are DECKED! Joy to your week!
What a happy and good looking bunch of kids you have, Ellen. It will be so nice to see your other daughter at Christmas, too.
No decorating around here yet, although I’m starting to think about it. We may get the tree this weekend, or not.
