Time to Switch…

…from the hummingbird feeder to a regular bird feeder, and boy have I been entertained!

Because my little hummingbirds have been few and far between but other types of birds come and perch on this feeder I decided to change the feeder out.

Can you see the flutter of the wings in this photo?

I need to get out and wash my window again so I can get clearer bird photos in the future. All the bird seed is gone so I need to buy another bag. The funniest thing to watch is the big Blue Jay who comes and attacks the feeder trying to perch on the base. He sends the feeder rocking to and fro with very little seed consumption.

Today is our last Bible Study session until January. We are having a brunch today and I’m taking Judy’s Ham and Egg cups to share. Tomorrow our son arrives from Eastern Washington for a few days. We are going to have our family Thanksgiving meal this Saturday while Dan is here. He has to work on Thanksgiving day. So much to be thankful for. Hope your week is going well.

  1. Thanks for the reminder! It’s time to do the same thing at our place.
An early Happy Thanksgiving as you gather your family at the table.

  2. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving as you begin to prepare for the next season. You have many wonderful things on your plate and I will need to take notes and continue to observe the beauty that you create with your family. It’s so good to be free to step out of the box…and just celebrate life when they are all around.

  3. I just won a hummingbird feeder from my local garden store. I hope I will get some tiny visitors. They come all year round to my friend’s house.
You have been having such happy family occasions lately! How wonderful.

  4. Gotta say…nothing like a bird feeder to provide

    cheap entertainment in winter.

Might be a Thanksgiving memory maker this year. Once Katie is out if the nest, those “everyone made it” Thanksgivings might be harder to come by.

  5. Oh dear, you would have to remind me about my dirty windows. But I think it’s too cold at this point, isn’t it? Please say ‘yes.’

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Ellen. So many things to be thankful for!

  6. I think I’ll just go put some bird feed in the empty feeder…and encourage the birds to come visit!

Have a wonderful family Thanksgiving this weekend.

  7. So wonderful to have him close — one of our girls is looking for a job after they closed the retreat center she ran. She’s hoping to find something in Colorado— 10 hours away…. It would be a first for us. Hope you have a wonderful family weekend!

  8. Taking care of every little thing…the birds, too. I have always wanted a birdfeeder…it probably won’t be this year. How’re the preparations coming?

I read all comments and appreciate them.
