“Kenmore Air was founded in 1946 by three high school friends, reunited after
World War II. With one airplane, and a single hangar near a swamp at the North
end of Lake Washington, Bob Munro, Reg Collins, and Jack Mines gave birth to
what was to become one of the largest and most respected seaplane operations in
the world.
Today, Kenmore Air is among the best-known and most respected float
plane operations in the world, flying an eclectic mix of piston Beavers and
turbine Otters and Caravans, landing passengers on glaciers, lakes and harbors
among the mist-shrouded fjords and islands of the U.S. and Canadian northwest. “

One of the options for my daughter and son-in-law’s get-away from their wedding site is to leave on a seaplane. Wouldn’t that be dramatic and fun?! Might be a little hard to tuck the wedding dress in while she boarded, though. Tomorrow we get the fun task of tasting several menu choices for the wedding. They told us to come hungry. We are really looking forward to seeing and tasting the choices we have.
I’m linking up with Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday.
Oh Ellen B! How much fun would that be??? Are Katie and Andrew going to Victoria for their honeymoon? I think that’s the company that flies to the island, isn’t it? I’ve always wanted to fly in one of those.
Tasting – oh boy….do they know you are a cookbook writer? 🙂
I remember the taste testing for my son’s wedding this summer, yum yum. Yes go hungry. Love the little yellow and white plane mosaic.
I totally vote for the seaplane, gown or no gown! It would be so memorable! Have fun at the tasting!
I’ll go for the seaplane too. And for the food tasting that is a lot of fun too. ^_^
Autumn Colors
This totally reminds me of my sil who flies in Indonesia. I have been on a little float plane like that flying over the muddy rivers there … landing and seeing lots of smiling little boys playing and waving from the shore… tattered clothes hanging from every little railing and washline possible …\
Wouldnt’ it be fun for a bride and groom get-a-way!
Now that is a fun idea and tasting for the wedding, wow, I don’t think they do that here. You could go to diffferent restaurants and eat for days. LOL
Have a nice week.
What a great idea, such a wonderful way to begin their life adventure together.
Super mosaic btw.
We have the ‘Red Baron’ seaplane here and it takes tourists on terrific tours around our city, the nearby Magnetic Island and the Great Barrier Reef. I’ve yet to hop on board. Great mosaic of the seaplane in your area.
Sounds like a fun idea to leave the wedding in a plance. And the taste testing sounds yummy. Wonderful photos. Have a great week!
Would be exciting to fly off that way on one’s honeymoon. Enjoyed the photos. Oh! tasting the menu of food! Yummy!
The plane is a very pretty yellow and white…I especially like that. What a great way to take off for one’s honeymoon! Enjoy all the taste-testing today!
What fun! A seaplane! Exciting! Wedding planning is so much fun (and work), but the tastings … oh, boy!!!!!! Have fun!
I love what Pondside said.
OH how romantic. .the seaplane would make for a beautiful get away. Thinking photo’s of course. Have lots of fun.
Oh yes – go for the seaplane! The wedding dress isn’t an issue.
Harv surprised everyone – including me when he had a helicopter land on the church parking lot to take our daughter and new son in law to their honeymoon bed and breakfast on Harrison Lake. It was so exciting and romantic! As Harv said – he only had one daughter and he was going to do it up good!
This is a great mosaic …I think the seaplane is a fantastic subject! Tastings prior to the wedding are the fun part!
Wow, a seaplane getaway – sounds so wonderful and romantic! I say they should go for it!
Good luck with the rest of the wedding planning!
That’s neat! I don’t think I’ve ever seen one land! That would be a memorable way to leave on your honeymoon! ♥ Enjoy your week! ♥
Go for it! I have wonderful memories of Jeremy lifting his bride into the helicopter, dress and all and away the scooted out out to Harrison Hot Springs where the were released. Oh…it tugs my heart to see how things changed for them…
But my emotions were so high when we saw them airlifted away.
Ellen, the dramatic exit would be so much FUN!
