FFF ~ My Dear…

It’s time to consider the past week and record 5 things that were your favorites. Susanne at Living to Tell the Story keeps us on track for this worthwhile event every week.

Friday is Dear’s birthday so FFF is all about Dear!

I pulled out some real oldies but goodies from my photo archives to share. This is Dear with our sons and with our daughter.

1. Dear is a faithful hard working man and that leaves me secure and content.

This mosaic is from our trip to Great Britain in 2006.

2. Dear is a handy man. He takes on most of the projects around the house and efficiently manages them.

3. Dear can cook and isn’t afraid of the kitchen.

4. Dear is a follower of Jesus.

5. Dear is smart and witty and wise…all things that attracted me to him. I thought he was rich, too. Oh well the smart, witty and wise gets us through a lot of tough spots!

Happy Birthday Dear!

I thank God that He brought us together and has kept us together for these past 37 years! You are the only one for me…

I’m making a special birthday dinner for tonight so it might not be until tomorrow when I can visit everyone’s favorites. Have a great weekend everyone. We’ll be flying our flag at half staff on Sunday the 11th.

  1. What a great post about your beloved. Loving tributes are the very best kind and I do believe he’s going to have a very special birthday meal, especially since he doesn’t have to cook it himself.

  2. Wonderful tribute to your Dear! The best part is that he is a follower of Jesus – and it doesn’t hurt that he is not afraid to cook! (Does he read MGCC?) You are blessed.

  3. 37 years married? Quite a remarkable achievement. It’s obvious as to why you’ve hung onto him all these years. I bet Dear has just as many good reasons to hang onto you too.

Thanks for sharing your tribute to your Dear. It is refreshing and encouraging to read.

  4. That was sweet, Ellen. Your Dear is indeed a dear man for all the reasons you gave and more that I’m sure you and your children will chip in as you celebrate around the table.

  5. Happy Birthday to your Dear….I liked him right from the start…He reminds me alot of the kind of person that I call my Dear…And I am so greatful for that kind of relationship.
May you be able to celebrate more happy birthdays together.

  6. I was interested in your picture frame with the different crosses on it. Is that a collection you have put together over time, or from necklaces? A very unique and clever way to display them in a practical and enjoyable way.

    • Hollace,
I actually found and bought that frame with the crosses on it at a Goodwill store here in the Seattle area. Someone else put it together and I’m enjoying it…

  7. Happy Birthday to him! It’s obvious you are both very blessed in your marriage and it’s always wonderful to hear about such success stories. And I have to say that expression of sheer love in his eyes as he looks at you on your wedding day is so amazing. Enjoy your birthday celebrations.

  8. Ellen, this was a beautiful tribute to your husband. Loved seeing all of the photos. i guess your husband and I share a birth date (the 9th?). Happy Belated Birthday to Ellen’s husband. laurie

  9. I’m a few days late but my wishes for a wonderful year are just as sincere. You two obviously are good friends and that’s a great thing in this day and age. Happy Birthday!
