Once again it’s time to look back over the last week to pick out your favorites. I enjoy this exercise in focusing on blessings and listing them. Thank you Susanne at Living to Tell the Story for hosting this worthwhile meme.
Here are my favorites.
1. The weather finally improved enough in the Seattle area for us to bring our patio furniture out of storage and onto the deck. Along with the furniture I spent some time decorating the deck area in red, white and blue for our upcoming 4th of July, Independence Day celebration.
2. Watching Women’s World Cup Soccer and seeing the U.S. Women’s salute to our military after scoring a goal!
3. A get together with family and friends with lots of good food and fellowship to celebrate our Nation’s birthday. By now you might know that I like party themes and for this one it was all about flags, stars and red, white and blue. We had blue drinks with white ice and red berries, cupcakes with red, white and blue sprinkles. Serving dishes and flowers followed the theme, too.
4. While we were working on the deck we had a fun little visitor, the green little frog in my mosaic.
5. Katie and I have been using our library more and we’ve gotten some books that we put a hold on. I’m looking forward to finally reading The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart.
Having a holiday on a Monday can throw me for a loop and it did. I’ve been a little off all week. I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend. How was your past week and what were your favorites?
Photobucket replaced all my photos with blurred out versions and photobucket stamped versions. They are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.
I’m so glad you explained about the frog. I couldn’t tell what it was and my mind was in overdrive trying to think of some food item. lol. I’m hoping for a quiet weekend as well. I’m always looking for book ideas, so I’ll have to check this book out. Have a gloriously peaceful weekend.
Sounds like an all-around great week! I love themed get-togethers, too — I’ll have to remember that red, white, and blue drink.
I need to read that book — I’ve heard so much about it.
Glad the deck is finally getting some use (well…maybe not today). It looks like you enjoyed a great week!
Looks like a wonderful party…I need to join in to FFF again. I love it and it helps me stay focused on the highlights. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Love, love, love your photo collage! And summertime at the library. It always brings back memories of when I was a child and we did the summer reading program. I love libraries! (see my post today!)
Sounds like a great week for you! love all the pics! Happy Weekend!!
Hi It’s Kathy on J nd J’s computer. I didn’t even realize it was Friday untill I saw your post. It’s all a blur of boxes and activity. There was a little tiny frog stuck greeting me this morning but it was a Clovis frog not a Seattle frog. Love your collage.
Things did not really warm up for us here in NoCal until July 4th either, but then it was spectacular weather. I love that little green frog! I’ve always thought small frogs were adorable 🙂
Great looking mosaic… so colorful and happy! I know what you mean about holidays throwing you for a loop. I feel like I have been running all week just to keep up! But vacation is coming next week…YEA!!
Libraries and family get-togethers would top my list too. I’ll have to check out that book you mentioned. Glad that you are enjoying nicer weather. Seattle is beautiful but I have to have sun a little more often than your area usually enjoys. Have a great week.
I’m with you on being thrown for a loop by Monday holidays, Ellen. It’s like trying to squeeze a five day week into four after that so I’m glad to have a quiet Friday evening ahead of me now.
Looks like a bunch of great folks in these photos and looks like summer is in full swing!
Yeah, what day is it, again? I’m not sure, either!
You had a great week filled with lots of parties and friends. Time to pull out that book–I hope you get it soon.
Your party looks great!
I can relate to being thrown off kilter. Our holiday was Friday and I took Monday off so I’m really confused and tired and ready for the weekend.
Such a pretty collage of your wonderful fellowship times! Have a lovely week-end and God bless!
Ellen, we are the same age but I think you have more energy than I do.. lol! I appreciate how you enjoy entertaining and are quite the hostess with the mostess.. Checking books in and out really gets me tired.. Vacation for us is in about five weeks..
You had better get the outdoor furniture out quickly in Seattle it’s bound to rain again in a few hours! Monday off threw me too but my schedule has been all messed up for the last two months so at this point I am getting used to not knowing what I am doing from week to week
Glad to see you worked in some down time. That frog is so cute. He has a nice coat on. 🙂
While “party” meant just us two eating blueberry pancakes with red white and blue jimmies, it still felt like a celebratory day. America, still here all these years later! Just knowing that to be true made my day.
I was “off” all week, too! I had to keep asking the boys what day it was. 🙂
I love your little visitor, he must have wanted a closer view of your patio furniture. It looks like your party was a fun wone, and what a great job you did with the decorations and the themed food!
Big love for libraries this week! I’ve really enjoyed those shots of Katie you took to send to Andrew. Really nice warm light to show off your sunny weather!
