I’m posting early because it’s already the 4th in Afghanistan!
We had a warm sunny day on Saturday and Katie, Dear and I worked together…
…and finally got our patio furniture down from the loft in the garage. We cleaned and arranged the furniture, then decorated for our 4th of July celebration. We are looking forward to a get-together with a few friends and family on Monday afternoon.
On Monday at the MGCC Blog the recipe for Chocolate Butterscotch Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Bars will post at 4:00 A.M. Pacific Time.
The recipe for these delicious bars is the most visited post on my blog. To date I’ve had 48,250 visits to the post for this recipe alone.
Hope all my visitors from the U.S.A. will have time to celebrate our country’s independence and remember to pray for our great nation. I’m praying we can continue to enjoy our freedoms and I’m also praying for all those serving here and abroad to ensure our freedoms.
Thank you Andrew and to your unit serving in Afghanistan.
Thank you, too, to the sons, daughters, and other relatives of my bloggy friends who are serving their country. God, please continue to bless America and protect us from evil.
Lastly I wanted to share this photo I took of the U.S. Women’s Soccer team at the World Cup in Germany giving a salute to the military after they scored a goal against Columbia. I really appreciated this collaboration for their goal celebration!
Photobucket replaced all my photos with blurred out versions and photobucket stamped versions. They are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.
hey…wait…..which is the recipe?
Oh ya, the decorating is super fantastic….you are really doing it up in style. It is a pleasure to witness such patriotism and love for one’s country.
Happy 4th of July!
I’m going to look for that recipe and get ALL the ingredients because it looks like such a summer treat. Have a great day tomorrow!

Thank you, Andrew and all other military serving to protect us!

Can’t ever get enough red white and blue! We usually throw a brunch with patriotic, historical and state specifc menu items and ask each guest to bring a patriotic poem to share. We play quiz games about American history and give a prize to the person who has visited the most number of states.
No party this year after being out of town…wish we could crash your party though.
I echo your prayer Ellen, May God continue to Bless America and bring peace so that your precious sons can come home. Have a wonderful day with your guests.
Agreeing with you on praying for our nations. May our leaders seek wisdom from God and lead in the right way. I’m also thankful for the peace we can enojy and for those who work to that end. Happy 4th of July celebrating today, Ellen!
Happy Independence Day to you and yours, Ellen! And praying for your Andrew as he serves.
Happy 4th of July to you Ellen and your family. You look ready to celebrate:)
I hope that you are still enjoying a lovely time with your friends and family. We owe a debt of gratitude to everyone who has made it possible to celebrate freedom today. To think that this has been going on for the past 235 years is very humbling.
Must be off to snag that recipe…it sounds mighty yummy.
48,250 people can’t be wrong. I’m going after that recipe too! Happy Independence Day to you and your family!
