It’s Friday and time for counting blessings one by one. Any day is a good day to do that but we have the privilege of joining in together with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story and documenting them on Fridays.
All five of my favorites are from one day. There were lots of blessings on the other days of this past week but I’ll share 5 from yesterday.
1. The sun was shining and the time was right for an impromptu jaunt to the Seattle Center. Katie and I had tried to go to the Harry Potter Exhibit in January but it was sold out on the day we happened to be at the Seattle Center so we decided to give it a try yesterday. We decided at 10:30 a.m. that we’d go and by 11:20 we drove up to the Space Needle for valet parking and walked the short distance to the Science Center.
2. The exhibit was fun with lots of great props from the movies. There were very few people in the exhibit which made it easier to get around and see everything. No photography was allowed in the exhibit. One lady was caught taking a photo with her phone and they made her delete it!
3. After we were done with the exhibit we walked across the way to the hands on section of the Science Center to see their butterfly exhibit. We went through double doors and into the 80 degree butterfly habitat. It was fun to have so many beautiful butterflies flying around us. You had to be very careful where you stepped and before they let you leave you had to be checked to make sure no butterflies decided to land on your clothing. I’ll be sharing more of my butterfly photos next week.
4. I mentioned what a wonderful clear sunny day it was right? Well this view was fun to see. Those are the Olympic mountains showing their glory across the Puget Sound.
5. We were treated to this view as we walked to our lunch destination and my last favorite, enjoying lunch at a new Thai Restaurant with my daughter.
All that fun and I still had time to prune a few branches off our apple tree when we got home from the Center.
What are some of your blessings from this past week?
Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.
You had a sweet week. It is so special that you and Katie are having adventures together.
Seattle is a special is so many ways and your photos always show that fact.
What a fun day, Ellen! Love the pictures of the butterflies.
Unexpected provisions from the Lord is the biggest blessing for me this week. 🙂
Sounds like a wonderful day with you daughter!
I love learning about new places. Thanks for sharing about Seattle.
Love the pictures of the butterflies!
You pack a lot of fun into one day! Sounds like a good time…with Katie.
LOOK at that gorgeous blue blue sky! So glad you had a wonderful day. Can’t wait to see your butterfly shots.
Your day looks lovely and the photo of the mountains is just spectacular. My son lived in the Tacoma for a short period of time and I’m sorry I didn’t take advantage of it and go visit that part of the country. Someday I will get up there!
The sky in your first picture is so amazingly blue…gorgeous. We took our girls to a Butterfly exhibit in Chicago years ago…it was so fun. One of our girls wore a bright green shirt…very light colored and she was soon covered in butterflies. We’ve laughed that her butterfly covered shirt is now in HUNDREDS of homes across the country…so many people were taking pictures of her back all covered. And stunning is the only word for the mountain scene. You are blessed with much beauty up there. Hope your weekend is grand!
Love butterfly exhibits! Can’t wait to see butterfly pictures. I miss them this time of year.
What, what neat things to see! We visited a butterfly arboretum in GA once — an enchanting experience.
What a wonderful outing with Katie! Love the Olympic Mountains in the background!
Lovely list, Ellen!
At the top of my list is the 15 minute walk my husband is now able to take. Ten days ago it was just 4 minutes!
This looks like it was a GREAT week! Lovely pictures. That butterfly exhibit must have been something. I look forward to seeing more pictures.
Hope you have a great week ahead.
A lovely day with your girl! Making memories. So if she’s moving to NC you’ll have to come up here – it’s only a hop skip and a jump. 🙂
Have never been to a butterfly display! Wow, that’s got to be absolutely wonderful. — Yum. that soup looks delish!
WOW, that HP exhibit sounds such fun! Hubby & I have been using some of the winter weekends to watch again the Harry Potter films. Love the photos today, Ellen…very magical! Happy Valentine’s :o) ((HUGS))
Looks like a great week! love all the pics…..my daughters would love that Science museum and Thai food….YUMMY!!!
Nothing is so special as a shared lunch with a daughter.. no distractions…. just a time to share hearts….
Those butterfly photos are gorgeous, Ellen!
For me, it’s nice to see butterflies this time of year.

Looks like lots of fun packed into a day! The mountains are beautiful and lunch looks very yummy!
It sounds like it was a fun filled day for sure. I like the owl shot with the letter. Hum, they made her delete the photo from her camera?
