1 Peter 5:6-10 (English Standard Version)
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

I took these photos at the Dallas Zoo this past Friday. I was happy they were in an enclosed area. They look docile in these photos but we all know we would be their prey in the wilderness.
Hope your Tuesday is starting off well. As usual I’m trying to get my bearings re-established after being away…

Glad there was a fence between you! Your little niece makes an adorable princess!
Hope you’re feeling rested soon.
Yes, I’m not ‘lyin’, I understand that ‘getting your bearings’ part after my whirlwind trip to Phx. Enjoy your day! I would love to go for a walk–cool and sunny here.
yes glad there was a fence! Great capture, and it’s so true! Fits well with my morning!
The King of the Jungle. Love ’em 🙂
What a gorgeous creature….looks so cuddly…looks truly are deceiving. It is so necessary that we press in to know that we are embracing Truth at all times….no being deceived by what looks right, but knowing if Truth is the real foundation. Great post Ellen!
very well stated, Pam…
The last part of those verses was our benediction at the church we attended last Sunday… Bob Thune read them.
What incredible photos. They are beautiful creatures, but you’re right – don’t want to get up close and personal with them. Beautiful scripture too. laurie
They look so gentle, you know at first glance, the first one reminds me of Aslan.
Great pictures to go with the verses!
Glad he was behind the fence…beautiful and dangerous creature that he is. Great scripture passage to go with the pics.
Great shots…I love the zoo…had so much fun. some great scripture passages to go with your photo shots.
I wouldn’t want to play tug of war with that kitty!
Thanks for the verses! And I know what you mean about readjusting. I seems to get more difficult the older I get.
