Finding Beauty ~ I will Sing…

I took these photos at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens last week. Lavender and purple seemed to be the winning colors that were blooming at this time.

The plush green of the Japanese Garden was so calming and refreshing. Spring is just so lush around here. There are benefits to getting a lot of rain. All this beauty makes me want to smile a lot and to sing. You might even catch me talking in song lyrics. Don’t be alarmed!

…All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings…

Footnote: I won’t be participating in weekly memes due to several key events happening around the homestead and in South Africa! World cup begins on Friday and I’ll be trying to catch every match and probably singing Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole! This is also a busy family weekend because of visitors, graduation, and kayaking. If the whales attack us while we are kayaking I’ll have my sister write a post so you’ll know where I disappeared to.

So until I post again…Go U.S.A.!!

About Ellen am a wife, mother, baba (grandmother) and a loyal friend. Jesus is my King and my hope is in my future with Him.

  1. I LOVE the purple mosaic…so stunning. And here you go making me sing in the middle of the night…tune, where are you? Hope you have a spectacular week…

  2. Gorgeous!!

Hope you post some kayaking pictures. We can compare šŸ™‚

I have a South African friend here on the Island- and she’s pretty excited about the World Cup event too.

Have fun this week Ellen – looking forward to hearing all about it!

  3. So, I get to be the one who tells the world you are in the belly of a whale? šŸ˜‰

Love the garden shots – I may need to head out there today!!

  4. Go USA! You would enjoying being with my soccer obsessed daughter this weekend.
I’ve never thought I would want the lollypop shaped alum plant before, but now that I see them soaring over lower plantings I have changed my mind. They will be planted this fall in the bulb bed for sure.

We are planning to put a Japanese garden into our lower lot area…someday. Time, money and energy not fully available for the project just yet!

  5. Ellen! WHAT beauty you have captured with the lense!

To try and imagine that heaven’s colors are MORE vibrant that these taxes the mind! Such beauty we’ll soon behold—and the half has not been told!

Thanks for sharing these wonderful pictures—they made me smile—and the Lord knows what seeing “purple and lavender” does to my heart! (they were Wanda’s favorite colors-and I always feel like she’s smiling when I see them!)

Have a BLESSED weekend/next week etc! (until you return with more fun details from life as you know it!

  6. What stunning flowers God made for you to capture on film! Also love those mile-high stacks of rocks! Unreal or were they cemented together? I would love that Japanese Garden path on my desktop – how relaxing – almost breathing more deeply!
