Row upon row yellow, pink, red, purple.
I took a quick trip North last Thursday because we were promised a window of time without rain. I wanted to see the tulips before all the crowds started coming.
It was dry for my hour drive up until I took the exit for Mt. Vernon to head to the tulip farms. Then it started pouring!!
Most of my photos had to be taken out of my car window.
I was amazed at the beauty of this lovelies blooming row upon row.
It was wonderful to get the effect of a sea of tulips when you didn’t focus down the planted rows.
It really is a treat to see and if you ever are in the Northwest in April make sure you make it to the Skagit Valley!
Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.
Shades of Holland π Really impressive. Must have been pretty powerful in person, I appreciated waking up to your photos.
WOW…thanks for sharing
Oh the flowers are just beautiful Ellen .. .I smiled at the thought of you going on a day that wouldn’t rain ..the weather forcast is looking a bit gloomy next week to.
The dull sky really makes for beautiful photos though and it seems the colors pop even brighter. .
I’ve stood in some of those exact same spots ..some of them are just natural photo ops.
Ellen is that one the way up to Anacortes to catch the ferry to Friday Harbor? When we drove up there to go see Quilly and Charley my brother was telling me about how pretty it is with all the flowers in bloom up there. I wish I could see this in person. It’s just stunning. Just beautiful.
Yes Thom this is the area you pass through on the way to Anacortes…
You’ll have to come visit again but in the Spring next time :0)
It is just beautiful. My brother told me how pretty it is. I had no idea π
Wonderful…What a sea of flowers…Three more sleeps.
Oh, Ellen, thank you so much for the beauty of the tulips in the
fiend. I only ever get to see them in the flower dept. of one
of our local grocery stores. This is magnificent. God’s beauty
displayed in tulips of all colors….What a great gift you gave us
in bloggyville.
Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to you and your family, Ellen!
Out of this (NA) world! I thought I could only find views like these in Holland, or like the lavender fields in Provence. This is one amazing post, Ellen! How I envy you living so close to beauty like this.
Gorgeous!! Our tulips shoots are about half-way – which is very early for here. They’ll be blooming in a few weeks if this wamr weather keeps up.
Ahhhhhh, I was just ‘soaking up’ the tulips in our flower beds here at home–can’t seem to get enough of those beauties. What is it about fields and fields of flowers that seems to ‘speak to my soul’? I don’t know but your pictures further quenched my soul–I really hope some day to see those fields in person! Easter Blessings my friend!
The pink ones are my favorite! Gorgeous photos, Ellen!
