This creek is generally bone dry most of the year.
After one day of rain it flows like this.
This is a storm drain/culvert in our neighborhood that is always bone dry, too, except after the kind of rains we’ve had these last couple days…
Two more storms are pushing through on Wednesday and Thursday that promise even more water. I’ll have to get out and see how much more water comes flowing down our creek…

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.
Looks like you have had a lot of rain! Great pictures. I especially like the first one looking at the creek through the fence. 🙂
Ooowee that sky looks dark! Hope your creeks keep flowing.
What a difference a day of rain fall makes. The current looks so strong. We saw partial blue skies in our area too!
it’s good to have some rain…but like everything else, too much is dangerous. i hope we’d all be getting just enough rain this year.:p
We rode our bikes up Calleguas Creek on Saturday afternoon. I stopped to take photos of the dry arroyo. I think I’ll go back and photograph it again on Friday. What a difference!
Lovely photos! More gray skies equal more rain perhaps. I hope the rain stops soon.

Excellent photos Ellen…I really like the very first one with the macro shot through chainlink fencing. At least it looks like that…is it? LOL
My Wednesday post & sketch can be found HERE. I invite you to stop by for a visit if you can find time in your busy day.
Nice pictures….I just hope by Friday all will still be safe there. Any talk of ark building yet? Google “cubit” just to be sure everyone will know what to do!
Wowsers! Does one day of rain usually make this much of a difference or was this an especially heavy bout of rain?
Love the shot through the chain link fence, btw☺
That’s a lot of water flowing Ellen. I was at a stream nearby and we have more water flowing than usual for this time of year too. Normally it’s iced in.
Hi Ellen
We certainly don’t know how to handle rain here in Cali. Problem is we get it all in one day. My town tooked like that creek yesterday, and I practically had to swim home. Great pictures…stay dry.

Look so cold!
Snow no More for Outdoor Wednesday.
wow you all have been getting lots of rain
Despite the gloomy look in the pictures, I still enjoyed the details – especially the water details.
Take care!
I saw California was being showered liberally these days! Enjoy your walks in the rain.
That rain is really pounding. Wish it would come our way and turn water into snow for the Olympics only 22 days away.
Wonderful rainy day photos of this beautiful natural area in your part of the world. I shared Rainy Day photos from Southern California at (taken through my French Doors during yesterday’s downpour) Small Reflections this morning. Guess we’re in for some more of the wet stuph.
Hugs and blessings,
These are wonderful photos, Ellen. Thanks for sharing them with us. I can’t get over the clarity and depth of color you were able to capture. I hope you are having a wonderful Outdoor Wednesday.
