The Night Before…

the Blue Moon I took these shots. I wanted to be able to photograph the Blue Moon event on the 31st but we were clouded over and rainy all night long…

Today is my last full day in Washington State. We fly back to Southern California tomorrow. Back to reality! I’m putting Christmas back up into the attic and doing a little dusting and washing some linens. Then I get to decide what to pack to take back to the condo. Katie’s car is all fixed from her accident. Dear is one handy guy. He pounded out, replaced the bumper and the tail light and primed and painted and it looks like new! Yesterday and today we’ve gotten some good gusts of wind and lots of rain. We just might have to take the patio cover off today.

So I think I’ve decided I’ll be calling 2010…twenty ten. How about you?  My brother has been writing it MMX.

That’s it for my Saturday ramblings….enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

  1. Oh my goodness….that is incredible! That moon is so gorgeous….and the beauty is amazing…light amongst the darkness…n’est pas?

BTW….we had the same winds and rain here up north….not a great start to the year but it sure was balmy!

  2. MMX is much easier for me to type since I’m lousy at accurately hitting the numbers on a keyboard (unless it’s the 10-keypad). Now if only I can manage to write 2010 on checks and such….. Your husband is amazing. I was thinking that repair bill would be in the thousands since bumpers are ridiculously expensive.

  3. Oh twenty-ten, I like that! Of course the Roman thing is fun too, but how do you pronounce it and will the banks except it as an actual date…hmm.
I hope you have a great time cleaning today, Ellen B. and get a lot accomplished. I’m off to see, “The Young Victoria.” I finally found it playing close enough to my home.

    Have a fun day!

    xoxo cori g.

PS. I’ve decided to follow you on the “No Caps Rule.” for some reason it’s such a hassle having to hit the shift key all the time ;-).

  4. Boy my pictures of the Blue Moon can’t even hold a candle to yours. These are just magnificent. I have a hard time with night shots. I think I’ll just call it Twenty Ten myself. Have a safe trip back to Southern California 🙂 and have a wonderful weekend 🙂

  5. We had crystal clear skies for the Blue Moon. It was gorgeous! The clouds in your pics give it ethereal quality.

I think “twenty ten” is a great way to call the year. But what do we call the decade? The tens? The teens? I’m still muddled over that one.

    Safe travels, friend.

  6. I missed the blue moon because the sky was overcast… but thanks to your amazing pics, I could see a glimpse of it. And for 2010, it’s twenty ten for me. Have a great one, Ellen!

  7. Ellen ..back to sunny california. . lucky duck. Right now I could really use a good bit of sun. Hasn’t it been a wet stretch?
Your pictures of the blue moon are great. I don’t think I would have even been able to see that much. It poured here that night. . buckets.

Oh ..and yes. .we are saying twenty ten too. With the Olympics here this year we’ve been hearing twenty ten for an awful long time and it already seems normal.

Enjoy your travel back and the warmth on your morning walks.

  8. Hi Ellen…so glad you got those photos of the moon…they are terrific! I have been hoping to see (and photograph) the blue moon also, but not a sighting…how disappointing!

I wonder whether you would mind if I copied that first photo…for my little grandson…I have a folder on my laptop which has all moon photos in it…he loves looking at the MOON…!! I could identify your photo with your name on it. I look forward to hearing from you sometime Ellen.
