Silent Night, Holy Night…

Silent Night

Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon virgin mother and Child.
Holy Infant, so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.

Silent night, holy night,
Shepherds quake at the sight;
Glories stream from heaven afar,
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!

Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love’s pure light;
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.

Silent night, holy night
Wondrous star, lend thy light;
With the angels let us sing,
Alleluia to our King;
Christ the Savior is born,
Christ the Savior is born!

  1. Last night as we drove across the dark Kansas prairie listening to Christmas carols I thought of “that” night. So hard to imagine what Mary felt except I know the peace of God had to be upon her from the beginning. And those shepherds….angels appearing, a “STAR” out shining all other stars…to lead the way…heaven descends…to walk among us….sweet Jesus…what a gift. To be restored to relationship with God…now within our grasp again…..glorious. Merry Christmas Ellen!

  2. How perfect. I know one pastor, would not let that song be sung until Christmas Eve. It has a sacred spot in our heart.
    May you feel that Silent Night in your home over Christmas.

I read all comments and appreciate them.
