I Won’t be Needing my Passport…

The wedding in Cancun has been cancelled. The young couple decided they wouldn’t be able to live with themselves if even one guest got sick. They are seeing if they can put together a ceremony in New York this weekend…

The airlines are being generous with changing tickets. We’ll see how the resort handles their and our losses. So far we will only have to forfeit one night of our deposit. It would be nice to get a full refund….

Our hearts go out to not only our Jenna and Justin but to the country of Mexico and to all who will suffer loss because of this epidemic.

Update: The wedding has been moved to a hotel in Orlando Florida for this Saturday. Lots of phone calls and scrambling and changes of flights and the event will be happening. :0) Unfortuanately Dear and I will not be able to transfer our tickets for Florida but our son and DIL are going to be able to swing it!

  1. Your decision has been made for you. I agree the couple made the right choice considering the situation. I wish them luck in changing their wedding plans and getting it to work out.

  2. What a difficult situatiton to be in as a young couple! I know how disappointing it was to just change our daughter’s wedding from a garden wedding to a church because of rain!
Wishing them God’s blessings on their life and all theri future decisions.
Hope you can celebrate with them too! I was thinking you’ll still need a passport, but then realized you’re just traveling in the US.

  3. I sure do admire this young couple and I pray that they will be blessed for their sacrifice. I was thinking about them last night and thought that you would likely be safe since it strikes the youngest adults . .but how tragic would that be if the couple themselves were ill.
Oh dear. . .I really feel for you . .and them too.

  4. I suppose at times like these you need to focus on the fact that the marriage not the wedding is the goal…so disappointing though.

  5. Hi Ellen B.,

I’m sure Florida will be just as beautiful and memorable, but it’s sad that you and Dear can’t go. Life! It’s always something isn’t it ;0?

I read all comments and appreciate them.
