ABC’s of the Word ~ Jewels

Zechariah 9:16, 17 ~

The Lord their God will save them on that day as the flock of his people. They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown. How attractive and beautiful they will be!

  1. OOHH! Very lovely! I like the idea of being viewed as a jewel.
Have a wonderful day Ellen B.
I hope everyone made it safe and sound back up north. Lucky Lana!
    Have fun with your family.

  2. This is an amazing verse! I want God to make me sparkle. And that dressing room……….wow you captured THE PHOTO you bloggy camera lady.

  3. This verse reminds me of one of my favorite hymns “When He Cometh”:

“When He cometh, when He cometh, to make up His jewels, All His jewels, precious jewels, His loved and His own.

He will gather, He will gather, The gems for His kingdom; All the pure ones, all the bright ones, His loved and His own.

Little children, little children, Who love their Redeemer, Are the jewels, precious jewels, His loved and His own.

    chorus:
Like the stars of the morning, His bright crown adorning, They shall shine in their beauty, Bright gems for His crown.
    Amen.

  4. Hi Ellen,

I don’t recall ever reading these verses – but they are definitely beautiful. Thanks for the spiritual encouragement!! I will be thinking about them throughout the day!

Speaking of Jewel – I think you are a jewel too simply because you are first God’s, and you have let Him make you into a jewel to bless many.

    Blessings!

  5. Incredible to really get it that we are children of the King….I have been pondering a lot on how difficult it would be to get into the Queen, President or Prime Ministers presence whenever I want……..Yet the King of Kings invites me to come close through the precious blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. To meet Him at the mercy seat.
I read in a devotional this week

“take my hand, I know the way to the cross”

    Oh that is good.

I read all comments and appreciate them.
