Opening Doors ~ Day Four

Today is Day Four of Six Days of the Opening Doors Photo Challenge hosted by Jientje.

The doors I’m choosing today are from the Camarillo Ranch Victorian Home of Adolfo Camarillo. I live in the City of Camarillo when I’m in Southern California. It was named for the Camarillo Family. The Camarillo House was built in 1892 by Adolfo and others using the services of Architects Franklin Ward and Herman Anlauf This three-story, 14-room home was built in the Victorian Queen Anne style.

The doorway into the dining room.

These are the old door hinges on the doors.

This view of a series of doors and doorways is on the upper floor between some bedroom suites.

And last but not least one of the very favorite doorways in a home, the door to the Kitchen!

I’m looking forward to going back for the Christmas tour of this great old home.

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I posted on my blog from 2007-2015 hostage and replaced them with big black and grey boxes with threats. So discouraging…as I’m slowly trying to clean up thousands of posts!

  1. OMG!!! Such an incredible home!!! Thank you so much for sharing this one with us. I would totally LOVE to visit this house, and even more so, I’d love to live in it… sigh. These are fabulous photos, Ellen.

  2. I love the detail in these old Victorian houses…the hardware was especially beautiful. I did part of my nursing training in Camarillo at the state mental hospital. That is also a beautiful building in the old Spanish style. Camarillo is a pretty town!

  3. Sorry I haven’t had the chance to do the open door for the whole week.
I real like the kitchen area so warm and cozy looking.

If you have the time stop on it and the coffee is always on.

  4. I just want those HINGES on all my doors! How much money do you have to have to spend WAAAAAAAY extra on those hinges??? ROFL! WHO does that??? I’m gonna do it! Even if I have to buy them ONE door at a time! LOL!

  5. This looks like a wonderful house! I can imagine that if would look beautiful at Christmas time. I like the way you took you took the photo through the three bedroom doorways. The hinges are amazing!
