This post isn’t all for the birds…
I’m including a recipe for a signature Ruby Drink that Dear watched a bartender in South Kensington (outside of London) make and has recreated for us in the U.S.A. This isn’t an everyday drink but a once in a while drink that has some good flavors and quite a kick! And well it’s Ruby!!
Kensington Dream
In a shaker over ice add juice of 1/2 a lemon, 2 oz. Creme de Cassis, 1 oz. each Brandy and Amaretto. Shake well and pour into Goblet. Add about 4 oz. of champagne. Enjoy and don’t drink and drive!

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I posted on my blog from 2007-2015 hostage and replaced them with big black and grey boxes with threats. So discouraging…as I’m slowly trying to clean up thousands of posts!
Ooooo, ellen, that drink looks delicious and very RED! Love the amazing photo! đ
Hi, Ellen
that delight, I got water in the mouth. promise not address. Thanks for sharing.
hugs, Denise
Great ruby post! The pics are fantastic! A definite glow of light round that glass!
Looks very, very tempting! And not just because it’s red. đ Happy Ruby Tuesday!
Dear Ellen,
I’m collecting hens, pottery mostly, but i sure liked this wooden one too.
As for the drink; when I have champagne, I drink champagne, be it Yellow Widow or Pink Lady.
It just might be interesting to taste your Kensington in a bar though.

Hi Ellen, well these are pretty red items. I like the house and hen.
Mrs. Jim and I can not figure out what makes this drink red. None of the ingredients are red? đ
Jim, The cassis varies by maker from red to dark red to purple. This batch was red…thus the red drink! :0)

The birdhouse is cool! The drink… looks dangerous. But it makes a great photo!
It is a shame that such a beautiful birdhouse isn’t occupied by birds of discerning taste…
The drink looks serious, it is an earthier red. Agreed, I wouldn’t want to down more than one at a time. A relaxing elixir, for sure!
nice pictures! luv to try the drink! đ
The Kensington Dream looks inviting to my palate! Happy Ruby Tuesday Ellen đ
