My living room in my home in Washington has a lot of Ruby/Burgundy accents.
It always cracks me up when I try to describe our style. Kind of an old lady, vintage, modern, eclectic, traditional mish mosh of stuff we’ve gotten stuck with inherited and purchased over the years.
Some of our Books
Kipling, Browning, and Favorite Poems ~ all very old with ruby covers!

Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007-2015 hostage on their site and have replaced my photos with black and grey boxes of ugliness. I’m slowly deleting those boxes from my blog and trying to update so many posts, very frustrating.
Love the vase, also the roomy spacious feeling your photos portray. Your wall of bookshelves could double for mine. Lovely shades of red!
Ellen, I LOVE your living room – it’s so YOU! I love that vase in the last picture.
I could quite easily move into your house. It suits me. 😉
Ellen, I had to do a triple take! Your paino looks remarkably like the one sitting in my living room. Actually, it looks identical! Your furniture? Ditto, except I took the cranberry leather sofa back but kept the cranberry leather recliners. Your vase? Looks remarkably like the lamps on either side of my sofa. Cue the Twilight Zone music…
I love that lounge seat! Perfect for watching television!
My Ruby Tuesday photos are posted HERE.
Please check it out if you have the time. Thanks!
It looks very nice…burgundy is a great color, and I like the contrast green walls. Who plays the piano?
Sara, Dear and Katie play…

Hi Ellen B.,
OOh wonderful living room! Everything looks so cozy and inviting that I wish I could curl up on your couch and take a nap. All the inherited treasures just add to the appeal.
Have a lovely evening!
Cori
Such a homey and cozy space! You could really curl up and read a book on that couch. I bet there are outdoor animal sounds/flowing water/breeze blowing to top it off.
I agree, it looks like a very cozy living space — one in which I would feel right at home. Happy Ruby Tuesday.

What a wonderful room! So many lovely details. And a piano. I so miss having a piano, but such is life. I really like your carpet too. Cool Ruby Tuesday post.
The room looks so warm and inviting. 🙂
Warm and friendly burgundies. You have a very cozy living room. Burgundy was my favorite color when I was 18; I even had burgundy oxford shoes with a tone of tan. They would have fit right in your living room.
Thanks for sharing where you live!
I love the vase!
the photo of the bookcase and the chair is my favorite
the light is wonderful and highlights the chair and the splashes of color on the shelves
you have a beautiful home
ellen, your living room is so comfy looking and lovely! My grandmother had a secretary like the one you have but I let it go when she passed away long ago. Great Ruby Tuesday post! Thank you!
I’m drooling over your bookcases. Those are my heart’s desire!
Your living room looks so comfortable and inviting!
First visit to your wonderful blog. I too love the vase..Hmm..anything red in my house..
Lovely room, and books! I’ll love sitting in that chair with one on the books. The vase is lovely as well.
Well done.
I like the ones of the books best. I have a collection of about 4000! I love to read!
What a lovely room. I love esp. the couch, bookshelf and the vase.
Very nice! Love the vase . . . very pretty.
I really like your carpet. Hope you can see my pics now – don’t know why they wouldn’t load for you.

That is a nice room. I too like the bookcases with many volumes in red. Other nice reds are on the fireplace brifks, the rug and the furniture.
Often enough, eclectic = comfortable. Your’s is eclectic!
What a cozy room. I want to curl up with a book by the fire!
Oh and the flowers I featured? They are fuchsia’s!
Awesome Ruby Tuesday stuff! I like it a lot. Thanks for commenting on my blog.
