WFW ~ I Corinthians 13:12

I Corinthians 13:12 ~ “For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.”

I try to choose a verse for Word Filled Wednesday that is from the Book of the Bible that I am currently reading. I just finished 2 Corinthians and I am now reading 1 Corinthians. A little out of order but I’m on a journey of reading each book of the Bible 20 times before moving on to the next and not in order. It’s been a good method for me because it helps me retain a lot more than just reading a passage and then moving on…

Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007-2015 hostage and they have blacked them all out. I’m slowly working at restoring my posts without their help. Such a tiresome bother!

  1. Good morning, Ellen! What a beautiful picture — and your method of studying the Bible is so inspiring!

Thanks for the pictures – I received them just fine — last night before falling asleep, I was thinking in my mind how I can use them for quilting! 🙂

Hahaha – the Hello Kitty plate was there to test how observant my readers are…. (just kidding!) But you are obviously one who notices details.

Gotta run – enjoy the rest of your day! 🙂

  2. I like that method, Ellen. I’m not an observant reader the first couple of times – just getting the basic info. To help me concentrate, I’ll sometimes do homiletics on the passage. A terrific photo to accompany your chosen verse.

  3. Wow, this was so beautiful… Did you take this picture?

Great verse. Hey, I like the way you study. I need to do this my self.

  4. For it doth not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that when He shall appear, we shall be like him. For we shall see Him as He is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he *is* pure.

  5. This scripture has come up in my life alot lately… sermon at church on Sunday, in my own person Bible study, etc. I think it is a great scripture and one that is becoming more and more meaningful to me.

    Happy WFW!

  6. Ellen, what a wonderful suggestion to read each book 20 times before moving on. .. I’m encouraged to try this as well.

YOur picture works so wonderfully with the verse of today.

  7. Dear Ellen thank you for visiting my blog! What a wonderful idea to read the bible this way. All questions will be answered! Well that’s the greatest comfort I received today. Thank you!

  8. That picture is absolutely perfect with the verse!

Interesting method of reading the Word. That would really help to retain it and to allow God to speak to you about it as you dwell on it that way.

  9. Ellen, I think you would love the Bible studies from Precept Ministries – have you ever done any? They have been life-changing for me! They start with exactly what you are doing, reading a whole book of the Bible many times, finding themes, key words, etc., and then you dissect one chapter at a time, marking key words, cross-referencing, looking up words in the Hebrew/Greek, etc. You really learn to be an observant student of the Bible, and you get so much from doing an entire book study rather than a verse here or there. Knowing God’s word is key to a strong faith, isn’t it!!!

  10. Neat picture! That sounds like a good way to go through the Bible. If you read something over and over again, you’ll be more likely to understand it and remember it.

  11. OMG, so so lovely! You know idea how much I read, and re-read the verse, and how much impact it has on me. Plus, the lovely photo…oh, thank you for sharing.

    Happy WFW!

  12. something about that picutre and verse just really touched me!

Thanks so much for sharing it!

    God Bless!
