We usually have what the weather people call “June Gloom” around Southern California but this year they had to come up with a new one “May Gray”. As you can see from the photo above on a beach walk hubby and I had last Saturday morning, the skies are gray. The last couple days we have been back to sunny and slightly blue. We are suppose to reach temperatures in the upper 90’s by Friday here and the 100’s in the valleys. Yuck, that’s hot for Spring!! Have a wonderful weekend all you Sky Watchers!
For more Sky Watch photos head over to Wiggers World.
Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007-2015 hostage and they have blacked them all out. I’m slowly working at restoring my posts without their help. Such a tiresome bother!
cool picture
This is one of the best beach photos I’ve seen lately.
Need I say more?
Beautiful!
Love these beach scenes, great rocks and moss and grey sky makes a great SW post.
my double reflection is now up please feel free to visit-thanks.
This is really a nice photograph. I like it and the contrasts in it.
Ellen: The sky might be grey but the beach makes up for it in color.
beautiful picture taken from the beach with the magnificent sky
Drat the grey – the angle was great!
Pretty pictures, congratulations. The sky is a show as the entire landscape is also expectacular
The skies might be grey but the beach looks golden.. and the stones emeralds… beautiful view.
Ha you lucky, in Aberdeen, Scotland we have that gray cloud 90% of the year. Really could do with some sunshine.
Great photo, and what a view!
Gray May sure describes it, yet I like the peacefulness of it.
This is a gorgeous shot!
The skies may be gray but this photo is stunning!
May gray is looking mighty fine through your lens!

This is a great capture of the beach, despite the grey sky.
wow, I like the combination of green-blue and sand…amazing…even, no word how amazing…
It’s amazing how an overcast day can enhance the other colors on the beach so beautifully. The greens on rocks are awesome! It really is a spectacular photo… good shot.
This is wonderful! I love the shimmery effect on the algea-covered rocks!
Great, great picture!
Wow. I know this is a SkyWatch shot, but the water and sand and rocks make it a phenomenal shot.
Now that is a very lovely horizon and Skywatch photo. I like that greenery in the foreground.
Great shot.
gray – but still such a great shot.
I love the gray day in may.
Nice photo…
Thanks for the visit,
Troy

It’s beautiful! I love how the eye is led from mossy rocks with the gray reflected in their pools to ‘out’ 🙂

Excellent shot!!!
May Grays – Interesting. I’ve got to agree that for the past couple of months, the weather has been weird. I guess it’s a global climate change.
Happy Weekend Ellen!!!
May Gray … interesting name!
and that’s a wonderful shot! 🙂
happy weekend, too!
Great shot….even if it is a gray day…those rocks in the foreground sure offer some great photo opportunities…you must go back there for one of those dramatic California sunsets…
the picture depicts peacefulness. so enticing to take a walk on that beach, too!
great week-end ahead!
I love such shots which have the combination of Earth, Water and Sky. Great picture for this week. 🙂
We live with gray here all winter ! Still a nice place to stop and visit…May Gray or not……
This picture I really LOVE !!
If you see my blog, a furder post, you can see what I did withe the mose… on my veranda and kitchen.
Love from Norway
Lovely! I particularly like the contrast of the gray-green mosses/lichens on the rocks to the sky. Very good angle to take it all in.
We had “May Gray” in the Bay Area earlier in the week, but last night, Mother Nature gave us a break and we got this sunset!
May gray contrasts beautifully with green! Beautiful ocean view!
Oh, Oh, Oh……….I WANT TO HE THERE RIGHT NOW!!! Beautiful shot. Makes me want to be there.
What a great shot! I love the beach gray or not . Have a great weekend!
There some beautiful, foreboding and mysterious about the beach and the sky in gray, ellen! 😀
