Hope you are all having a great week and looking forward to a long weekend here in the U.S.A. We will be remembering those who gave their all for our country.
Mary at Work of the Poet is our hostess for Yard Art on Thursday. I’m having lots of fun with this meme! I drove by this house on my way to the hairdresser last week. I went around the corner to get back to it and parked to take my photos.
At the back of the house and next to driveway these critters greeted me. Make sure and look up to see the Owl on top of the tree trunk! I crossed the driveway and all along the front and side of the house were different animals from a Merry-Go-Round. I’ve heard that when the ride is all horses it’s called a carousel and when there are different animals it’s called a Merry-Go-Round.
I zoomed in to see what was lurking around this wishing well…
So this was a very Merry house all the way around the property. Luckily the house is on a corner so there is only one neighbor next door and they really can’t see all the yard art from their property but all the cars driving by get a birds eye view!

The mushrooms are in a yard in my neighborhood and the Owl was in Descanso Gardens in Southern California.
On Mother’s Day on our way home from brunch we stopped at this Flea Market/Antique store and I photographed these new beauties that haven’t found a home in a yard yet…

Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.
I’ve been threatening my family for years about adding some yard art to our landscape…and I use landscape loosely here because our yard is in no way landscaped. It’s kind of like the inside of my house which is in no way professionally decorated! Hodge Podge is a better way to describe it…eclectic. Working with what you have and adding something here and there.
I saw these little guys at Fred Meyer and they were on sale so I bought them and stuck them in the planter along our front walkway. So my family has Yard Art Thursday and Mary to thank for finally pushing me over the edge with a purchase of my own Gnomes!!
Hmmm…upon close inspection of these Gnomes I’m struck with how they resemble my paternal grandfather except for his beard was redish…

I think the happy face painted on the rock is very funny. Most of the yards that I found “art” in this day were in serious need of some weed pulling! Have a great end of the week everyone. Oh and I walked again today specifically to get to a unique Yard Art house. I’ll show you next week!

We were in La Conner, Washington last weekend. It’s an eclectic little town with lots of artsy flavor. As we drove around all I had to do was yell “YARD ART” and Dear would slam on the brakes and position the car so I could get a good shot. What a guy!
This was some yard art in major proportions…
