And just like that May is coming to a close.

Another week, another Hodgepodge. Thank you, Joyce!
1. What’s your favorite room in your house and why?
I’m not sure I have a favorite. There are favorite things I enjoy in most rooms of our home. The dining room is special with great times sitting around the table enjoying food, conversation with loved ones and it’s where we play games!

3. May 28th is National Hamburger Day…will you celebrate? Maybe
Did you ever work in a fast food restaurant? I never did.
4. What are three scents you like?
I enjoy lemon scents, lavender and lilac.
Speaking of scents, I bought this beautiful bouquet of flowers from the Farmer’s Market in Chewelah this past Friday.

5. What do you miss most about being a kid?
I miss the clear and bright brain of my youth.
At my age it’s hard to find the words I need to complete a thought or a sentence. I call it brain fog. I miss the fresh productive brain of childhood!
6. Insert your own random thought here.
I should have said that what really annoys me is to finish a puzzle and discover there is a piece missing. My latest puzzle did not have a piece missing, it had an extra piece! That has never happened to me before!

Enjoy the handful of days left in the Merry Month of May!
That is funny about the extra puzzle piece! The flowers you picked up are so pretty. When I thought about things that annoy me as far as other people’s behavior go, I realized that I have been guilty of them myself a number of times. Oops! I think doing things that annoy others (even inadvertently) is part of the human condition. Though when I see things that annoy me about others, like the example you gave of someone hijacking a conversation, it makes me determined to try to NOT behave like that. All we can do is our best :). Have a great day, Ellen!
Maria, even as I was typing the answer to the annoying question I was telling myself to beware of that in me. It’s been a lesson to myself to read all the answers to this question! 🙂 Thank you for your thoughtful comment.
We often have a missing piece thanks to a dog who shall remain nameless. You don’t even know you dropped one before he’s swallowed it. We try to keep him away when we’re working a puzzle but there must be something in them he’s drawn to. Your arrangement is beautiful! We have a member of our extended family who hijacks stories on a regular basis. My hubs has started calling that person out in a nice way. I don’t think they even know they’re doing it. Have a nice day!
Oh boy, I can see why puzzle pieces go missing in your house. Calling someone out gently is a kindness to be appreciated. I’ve caught myself several times “doing what I do not want to do” in conversations. Hopefully I can catch myself quicker instead of after the fact! Greg does a better job of listening than I do. Enjoy the last few days of May.
….those ranunculus sure brighten the day, thanks.
Tom, ranunculus are such a sweet flower! Have a lovely day.
Love the flowers and great photos of the family. I have had a few puzzle pieces missing, it is annoying. Take care, have a great day!
Good morning, Eileen. Thanks for stopping by.
I opted for my dining room too and I forgot about the game playing! I’m with you on missing puzzles pieces. So annoying! Was your extra piece a duplicate or totally random? Pretty flowers.
Wendy, it definitely was an extra piece for this particular puzzle. Thanks for stopping by my Hodgepodge.
Oh my goodness – an extra puzzle piece! Do you feel like you won a prize?? Your flowers are so beautiful!! Your picture of the family around the table made my smile.
We were at a neighborhood restaurant last night and someone kept hijacking the conversation. I know I’ve been guilty of it, too, and I actually hate it when I realize I’ve done it. I’m aware of it so I’ve been trying to work on it. Since I’ve been “working” on this bad habit of my own, it amuses (or annoys??) me when I see/hear others hijacking the conversation.
Lisa, it was something that has never happened before and I was so happy I had an extra instead of a missing piece!
Yes, I have many annoying habits that I’m working on, too. It’s been an eye opener reading everyone’s answers to this question!
Hope the last few days of May are great in your corner!
Hi, I had to chuckle about the puzzle piece. If our cat gets into our puzzles we are doomed.
Happy Hodgepodge!
Carla
Good morning, Carla. Joyce has the same problem with her dog and puzzles! Have a great day!
Hi, you got my comment. For some reason I am coming up as universally86808d3131??? I will need some tech help.
Carla
I love that you play games. Your family gatherings always seem like fun. Interesting answer on what you find annoying. I get that. Your burger sounds yummy. Yes, In-N- Out is very good although I haven’t had one in a long time. Those are good scents and the flowers are so pretty. Yes, nothing like a missing puzzle piece. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
It is so nice to spend time around the table with family and friends.
Oh yes! A bun which holds everything together is a must!
Those flowers are so pretty and how odd for your puzzle to have an extra piece.
Oh my goodness, but the point you made in question two was so good! This is something I’m trying to be more aware of in my own conversations.
An extra puzzle piece, never had that happen before. Better than a missing one for sure. Seems like there is a day for EVERYTHING. :). Hard to believe the end of May is here already.
Ellen, I so appreciate your something that annoys you. It is something that I try to guard against.
How interesting that you actually had an extra piece of puzzle when you were finished! Lovely puzzle though.
Oh my, those flowers are so beautiful!! I’m annoyed by know-it-all people as well, those who hijack every conversation. I hope I’m not like that. I do think that interrupting is a bad conversation habit that most of us struggle with and don’t even realize it though. Listening well and respectfully is a real skill and I am still working on developing it. What a great puzzle – how strange that there was an extra piece! Hope you’re having a great week!
I don’t think I have ever heard of a puzzle having an extra piece. What beautiful flowers! A great selfie with the family 🙂 I’ve been to Paris, won’t be that person though and like you, maybe I have been but don’t want to be, lol! I know all about brain fog these days. Lovely hodge podge as always. Happy weekend!
I don’t like when pieces are missing either.
