Levi and Kristin…

…and the love of birds.

2nd and 3rd lady from the right are the bride’s sisters. Furthest from the right is the groom’s sister in law our niece by marriage.

The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th attendants are Levi’s brothers (my nephews) Tim, Caleb and Joseph.

My brother Steve who is performing the ceremony is Levi’s dad.

These were their wedding favors. A little bag that says Don’t forget to feed the birds…with a heart shaped bird seed feeder inside.

The candles were in mason jars filled with bird seed.

Fish got to swim and birds got to fly
I got to love one man till I die,
Can’t help lovin’ dat man of mine.

Everything came together so nicely for the wedding under the hay barns. My sister in law Kelly made the really long muslin curtains you see behind Levi and Kristin, fresh herbs in the bouquets and on the tables, galvanized tubs and mason jars for containers for the flowers and candles. The wooden benches (40 of them) were all made by the groom with lots of help from his friends, father, and uncle. The 180 heart shaped bird seed feeders were made by Kelly and the bride. I’m guessing they might have had other help, too. The setting and the decor all suited them and this rural/farming community my nephew grew up in.

All my regular weekly obligations are done until the fall. Now it’s time to get some big projects done, starting with cleaning out the attic of all the roofing debris that fell in there when the new roof was put on. Then we have a trip to Chicago for a conference Dear has to attend.  What’s on your agenda for the last month of Spring?

  1. The wedding is special in all its details and unified theme. I love it when the whole wedding party pitches in to make it a personal and homemade affair. Your pictures, including yesterday’s, are great.
I know what you mean about the calendar clearing up. Just last night I finally got to work clearing out my studio so I can do some artsy craftsy things again. But on June 18 I start babysitting for my new grandbaby when her momma’s maternity leave is up, so my calendar isn’t clear for long.
    Happy Summer!

  2. Plans? No, no, I’m a by the seat of my pants kind of gal.

You have had the most interesting life the past several months. I’m sure you are looking forward to some normalcy.

This wedding had a wonderful theme. I really enjoyed seeing it all.

  3. This was a fun, simple and casual wedding. Beautiful!
My agenda: celebrate summer and begin work on my summer to-do list!

  4. So unique and beautiful..did the food also fit the theme? Like Vee said, you HAVE had a busy few months…maybe time to take care of You..(pedicure, message, facial…)
When are you going to be in Chicago?

    • M Lou, We’ll be in Chicago from May 31st till June 5th. Dear has a conference and I’ll be entertaining myself most of the time.

      • *sad face*….we will be leaving the 29th for the U.P of MI to join our daughter and fam for a little vacation…won’t be back ’till the 2nd. May favorite things to do in Chicago are: the architectural boat tour (awesome), the Art Museum(free), take Trolly’s all around town(free) Shed Aquarium, Museum of Natural History. A Fantastic place to eat is Wild Fire on Ontario I think (or someplace near there!) Oh…and a must have, Garrett’s Carmel Corn!!! Enjoy 🙂

I read all comments and appreciate them.
