FFF ~ Fullness

Time to link with Susanne at Living to tell the Story for our favorites from this past week.

The theme for my week was filled to the brim, full, fullness…

Fullness:

1. The state of being filled to capacity 2. The state of having eaten enough or more than enough and feeling full.

1. Friday last we decided to celebrate Thanksgiving with our Canadian neighbors. My sister and her husband joined us for a Honey baked spiral ham, cheesy scalloped potatoes, asparagus casserole and rolls. We were full and satisified.

2. Saturday we had a lazy time vegging out in our robes most of the day.  Definition of vegging: to spend time idly or passively. Synonyms: chill, dally, dawdle, hang about, lounge, kick back… And what made this mood successful were all the leftovers from our Canadian Thanksgiving the night before.

3. A new series at church called “This is War”. Our pastor began a series on Spiritual warfare and the first sermon was so encouraging and practical.

4. On Monday Dear, Katie and I had a menu food tasting for the wedding next March. We got to eat so many delicious choices. It was a fun task to narrow down our choices keeping in mind our guests which include some lactose and gluten intolerant individuals.

5. Hearing from Josh and Laura from Hawaii where they are celebrating their tenth anniversary. It’s great to hear that our very hard working kids are getting some much needed fun and relaxation in a tropical setting!

Hope all is well in your part of the world. I’m headed to Sacramento on Sunday to attend my friend Kathy B.’s memorial service. If you think of it I’d appreciate your prayers for her husband Bill and her sister Jeanie as they walk through this separation on earth.

  1. I want to go to your church…that sounds and looked awesome! My crazy prayer group is actually studying spiritual warfare right now. I’ve read a couple books by Rebecca Brown M.D. and then Rick Joyner has a book called, “Final Quest” which I haven’t read yet, but my girlfriend just finished it and said it was amazing…Anyways, so glad you had a fabulous weekend and wishing you all the best at Kathy’s funeral, I will definitely pray for her husband and family who are left behind.

  2. Spiritual warfare is a a subject near and dear to my heart right now. I’m so glad your church is doing a study of it. We all need to be doing that.

Vegging out – sounds glorious. I need a day to do that …

I pray that your friend’s memorial will definitely be a healing time for her family and friends.

  3. Your Thanksgiving sounds wonderful. As does the day vegging out. I love doing that.

This is War: I’m sure that will be a powerful series. Glad it’s off to a good start!

Praying for Bill and Jeanie…and for you as you grieve the loss of your friend. 😦

  4. That sermon series sounds great…..you had a full week and I’m sorry to hear about your friend….grieving loss of loved ones can be so hard. WOW…you havea child that has been married 10 years?? I have one that just started junior high and one that just started college….! And I think THAT was a tough transition…i can’t even imagine marriage! lol….enjoy your weekend….

  5. Thanksgiving sounds like such a lovely and fun holiday with all those friends and family and food. Oh, I love leftovers. Vegging is a new (to me) word.

  6. Sounds like a great week! Hubby and I went to HI two years ago. Did a 7 day cruise that visited 5 of the islands. It’s a beautiful place. Hope Josh and Laura are having a wonderful time!

  7. Your Thanksgiving meal looks delicious ! In Europe of course we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, but I prefer your Thankgiving it’s not so short before Christmas as the American one. Eating, eating, eating I am always happy when Christmas and New Year are over, too much to eat !

  8. Just prayed for you all to feel God’s nearness and that tomorrow’s service is a celebration of Kathy’s life and that peace reigns alongside the grief. You will be in my neck of the woods, Ellen, as I live a little east of Sacramento.

It is so nice that many weddings are serving foods that lactose and gluten intolerant individuals can eat. I am more observant of this fact now that my daughter has to be careful of such foods. What a fun time you and your daughter are having in making these decisions together.

    I wasn’t hungry until I saw your photos. 🙂

  9. I’m praying for you as well as Bill and Jeanie in the loss of Kathy B. I hope the memorial service is a time of comfort for all of you.

  10. Our Thanksgiving is just around the corner as well, its amazing how fast time goes by. Your food all looks wonderful and I love the updates on the wedding plans!

  11. I’m praying for Kathy’s friends and family. It is so conflicting – the combination of joy that my loved ones no longer suffer, and the grief of being left behind make my brain spin.
Having time to “veg” sounds good to me, and so does Josh and Laura’s anniversary in Hawaii.
I hope you and your daughter found the perfect wedding dinner.
It sounds like an amazing series. enjoy.
Ends, beginnings, celebrations … you’ve had quite a week.

I read all comments and appreciate them.
