Not only is it Friday again but we are officially in our Fall Season. There are some things that do not change with the seasons and one of those things is the need to show our gratitude or to think on the good things in our lives. Thank you to Susanne for hosting Friday’s Fave Five!
1. Last Saturday our son picked me up for the Seattle Sounders Soccer game against D.C. United. Not only did we win big but we managed to get our hands on a couple free Sounders lunch boxes. They were handing these out to all the kids that came to the game. At half-time when they had boxes left over they let us oldies have one, too, until they ran out.
2. On Sunday after a great church service we went to a Welcome to the Family meeting for new members at church. We are so grateful to finally settle into a home church that is a good fit for us and so close to home. This church is the closest to us in 40+ years of church going…
3. Although Dear and Katie passed along a sick bug to me my bug was very mild and I was feeling well after just a couple days.
4. Katie and I went shopping for wedding jewelery and came up with some great pieces to go with her dress and the price was right.
5. I was grateful for the fresh herbs on my deck that added wonderful flavor to dishes this week. It’s great to just go out and snip the herbs rather than go to the store and pay too much for them.
Hope you are all having a great transition to Fall. I still have to get out and about and see if I can find some great fall color.
So glad you are better and that your team won. Our Braves seem to have forgotten how to do that! 😦 It is wonderful that you have found a church home that you love and that is close. We did the same thing this year…closest in 38 years! 🙂
Good health and a winning team – you had a great start to your week!
We haven`t thought about wedding jewelry yet – still have to find the headpiece and veil. We keep going on line to look at the dress that`s been ordered – what fun!
Katie’s dress is hanging in our sitting area of our master bedroom. She has to put it on every so often…fun. It’s good to try the jewelery with the dress.
I loved your Five…and I’m sending you a package of freshly dried wheat grass to place at your front door. It will bring the ambiance needed.
How fun! I remember a few of the lunch boxes I had as a child. I too am getting established in a newer church. Am going to a ladies luncheon tomorrow..
So glad that you are feeling better and that you didn’t get hit quite as hard as you might have.
Oh it’s so good to get the little details down like jewelry. One more thing to tick off the list is always good.
Great lunchboxes!
(We found a little bit of color yesterday and I explained to my carpenter that we would have to take an entire day and go leaf peeping just to feed our souls. He’s been working so hard. He’s reluctant to give up even one good day to do anything else. I guess I’d better offer to drive, too.)
Your Sounder lunch boxes are so precious! I have a friend who uses lunch boxes are purses.
You are spoiled to be able to snip fresh herbs from your deck. Some day I’ll have a yard and sun in that yard and be able to be like-wise spoiled.
How fun to find jewellery that was a good fit price- and style-wise.
Have a great week.
Glad to hear that you are feeling better, Ellen! Yeap, fall is definitely here. I can feel it!!! 🙂
I think it’s cute that you “oldies” got the lunch boxes too… is your son bringing that to work? 😉
All good things except for the bug!
Feel better, Happy Fall. Rainy and warm here in NY.
How neat that you found a good church home that is close! When I was a teen, our church was just 1/2 mile away. All my married life, though, I’ve had to drive 15-24 miles to my church. It would be so great to be close. Enjoy!
Glad your “bug” was short-lived. Fresh herbs are great, aren’t they? They make such a difference. Don’t you love it when church is family? That’s the best.
Do you know about Family Day — a day to eat dinner with your children? It’s coming up on Monday. I thought it would fit right in with MGCC! Have a great week.
So neat about the lunchbox! And the welcome for new members – what a great way to make new folks feel really welcome. That’s great about the jewelry! I’ve never grown fresh herbs but thought it sounded really neat to go and cut your own.
How fun! And how nice that they offered the lunchboxes to grown ups, too. I like the name of the new members welcome. Congrats on finding a church so close to home.
Fresh home-grown herbs are great, aren’t they? Sometimes the bunch I get from the store is too much for my needs and I can’t use it up in time.
Shopping for wedding jewelry – fun times! Is the big day happening in fall? It must be very lovely. A Welcome to the Family meeting sounds wonderful.
My ideal transition to fall would be sleeping in a comfortable cavern and wake up in spring !! Maybe a little interruption to celebrate Christmas, lol !
#2 is my favorite on your list this week, its so comforting to be a part of a church family, I am very happy for you!
No FFF for me this week. I’m grateful for much in my life, but just got too busy.
Cute lunchboxes 🙂 Will Josh take his lunch to work in it every day?
I’m glad your sickness was short. I love the lunchboxes!
The lunch boxes made me smile. I’ll bet you’re tickled pink with having one.
Sorry for the “bug” but glad it wasn’t really bad.
Awesome that you found jewelry at a good price. I can hardly wait to see everything come together when you post all the pics.
I have fun with, lead to I found exactly what I was taking a look for. You have ended my four day long hunt! God Bless you man. Have a great day. Bye
