…we pulled out the patio furniture.
Just in time because you know what these early morning shadows mean…summer has finally arrived in the Pacific Northwest!
This is the latest we’ve ever waited to pull out the furniture.
It was just right today and the next few days are predicted to be hot, hot, hot!
We’ve heard about the scorching temps in the Northeast and hope you get some relief soon.
I’m hoping for a nice stretch of 75 degree weather after this little heat wave rolls through.
My hydrangeas are deciding it’s time to show their color. I’ll be pulling out the hose to water the rest of the week. That’s the first time I’ve had to do that this summer, too.
How’s your weather?
I’m adding this post to Susan’s Outdoor Wednesday!
Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.
So does that mean the flowers all burst out too? Hurray! Beautiful hydrangeas, Ellen. And whatever it is you have in the vase. Gorgeous. Yay for summer finally arriving.
My hydrangeas are not as nice as yours because the bugs decided to eat the leaves and then I think they fried in the heat. I am with you when I also wish for 75 degrees all summer.
Joyce
Very nice. I hope those people with those high temps get relief soon. Crazy!
WOW! Beautiful pictures! Love the flowers.

Oh, I can see lots of summer entertaining on that patio! Your hydrangea is beautiful! Weather has been somewhat tolerable… in the 70’s.
Hope you have great weather to sit out and enjoy!
It has been hot here, even by the water. The sand at the ocean was so hot today you couldn’t walk on it!
But, it has been this hot before, and it IS summer!
My hydrangeas are begging for water. It hasn’t rained in 3 weeks! And even with irrigation, nothing does the watering job like God!
Envious of your hydrangeas. Mine were in full sun (previous owners planted) and they were beautiful but leaves always burned from the hot Ca. sun. Enjoy your days outside!

I am glad the weather is cooperating with you. This too pretty a place not sit and enjoy.
Enjoy summer, that last shot is spectacular!
It’s HUMID and rain left over from Hurricane Alex. What I want to know is the variety of the hydrangea??? That is beautiful. Hope you get your nice weather….we won’t be outside much until fall….way too much humidity most of the summer…we enjoy our porches in the early spring and fall.
Enjoy God’s amazing gift of summer and all the gorgeous flowers and things that come with it!
You were smart to wait. Ours has been sitting out in the rain.
What an inviting back yard/patio , Ellen…. your pictures are lovely!
I have the same hydraenga that you have — but mine had NO blossoms this year , even though the plant is huge and healthy. A pink one I have is loaded with blooms.
First…beautiful flowers and lovely patio surroundings!! But…secondly, I think it’s HOT HoT HOT everywhere!!!
My Wednesday post –Tall Sail Ships Arriving. Lots of photos! Hope you can come take the tour with me!
i love the play of light and shadows in your photos. your patio looks wonderful–i’m sure you and your family would enjoy summer here.:p
Such a cozy area to sit out the heat of summer!
Saw the news of the high 100′ temp’s up north
yesterday while we here in SoFla are in the high
80’s!
Whats wrong with that picture?
Stay cool!

Ahh…the patio furniture! You are ready for the heat and outdoor living will be soaked in! We are doing the same here….and we are happy! The garden should flourish and take off!
Your oasis is lovely and a great looking place to gather!!
I love, love, love your patio furniture. It’s all so cozy and inviting. It’s probably a good thing mine is the hard plastic stuff otherwise I’d be tempted to curl up in those things and remain there the whole day! LOL.
Your flowers are beautiful!
Hi neighbor! I live in the Pacific Northwest too and we have really had a very cool and wet spring haven’t we?? I hear that the temps are going up this week. Your patio is so charming. I loved seeing your pics!! Stop by and visit me sometime too.
Love,
Susan and Bentley

According to weatherbug, your old hometown is going to be about 15-20 degrees cooler today than your new one.
Our summer has been on the cool side too so far….I’m loving it!
It’s 5 pm and still 92 where we live. After dinner we plan on going out and jumping in the lake. Have a wonderful week. Debbie
