…when your husband was a former master painter…
In a day he transformed this…
into this…
And now we have a proper guest room ready for company.
With the lighting in this room it was hard to get the real color of the walls in the photos. The color is called Grass Cloth. We had this bedroom set from the condo and had to find a place for it in our home in Washington. I wasn’t willing to buy new bedding so Dear changed the wall color to something that would work with the bedding. My desk still fits in the room and it works as our office when we don’t have overnight guests.
The desk had to be moved to the opposite wall. I even tidied it up so it wouldn’t be such a eyesore in this transformed space…
Thank you Dear for your hard work!
Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.
Love it! I was a little lost at first then realized you switched the desk to the window! It looks great!!
What a happy room now! It’s beautiful!
I’m so in the mood to paint. Some day I want a RED wall in our living room area…. I can’t imagine covering red….that’s some talent and good paint.
It’s beautiful. Well done to your husband and to you π
Dibs for August, maybe…
nice! it’s the same color i have in my bedroom too!
Looks great! We have that same color in our bathroom π
It is a beautiful color combination…the blue and the green. And the plates you hung on the wall are also extremely pretty…I noticed those right away.
What a gorgeous color. Those colors just make me happy looking at them. :v)
Very nice. We have just moved from a condo to a house. Haven’t posted any picts yet.
How in the world did your Dear cover that red paint? I do like the red paint, but I also like the green and think your new set looks great in your new room. My SIL is currently occupying my guest/office room (but you already knew that) and I hardly remember what the room looks like. But isn’t it fun to have a new room even when you never see it? Ha ha ha!
I hope you’re having a great day Ellen B. My hubby is up in your area for two weeks and oh how I envy him, I’m not coming to visit though…yes it’s sad, I know.
Much love from me to you ;-).

Ellen, that bedding is beautiful, and the new wall color looks so great with it. Your guests may not ever want to leave. laurie
Ellen, I like both the red and green…. if I ever stayed at your house, would you have Mr. B re-paint that into red for me one day, and green the next?! π Just kidding. He did a superb job. I am interested in that picture in the third picture – it looks like a very interesting picture. I can’t quite see the details.
It’s a photo of Piccadilly Circus in London 1943…
Just beautifully done! Great taste in decorating!
I love what you have done to our room. Can’t wait to come up and use it
Oh it looks just GRAND! That shade of green is great…very close to the Shagreen (Sherwin Williams) color that I used with fear and trembling in our living room. That selection was made just over a year ago…now I counted FIVE room in one decorating magazine with similar shades.
Maybe I wasn’t so crazy after all.
Green looks great with everything…wonder why people think only beige will do that trick?
(I’m so happy to see that you aren’t afraid of bright colored walls like red either. Ever had a room painted bright orange like I have?)
The room would look better with a green eyed cat on the bed. Perhaps a white or gray cat would be best.
How can a room look welcoming without a cat?
(Blondie doesn’t allow me in the guest room…says some people are allergic to cats. Why would such a person exist?)
Love that shade of green. The room looks so cozy.
Kristin said they painted Ben’s (Bogdanof) kitchen apple green. Finding comprises for the former bachelor pad.
hmmmmm…..need a guest room tester??? π
oh, i love the transformation of this room! it seems like such a happy and relaxing space now. great job to you and your hubby.
thanks so much for stopping by the cape on the corner and for your kind words on my very first tablescape. makes me wish i had more dishes and glasses and tablecloths (like your fun mexican-ish one you used) so i can participate in this fun party.
