I bought a new bird feeder and it just happens to be a Ruby one! I put out two new types of seed. This is the first time I’ve seen these birds feeding from my kitchen window. From what I can see in my Field Guide to Western Birds this is a Evening Grosbeak Finch.

Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.
Wonderful post & great blog. I’ll be popping back to have another read through!
Happy RT – and look forward to *seeing* you again next time!
Mineβs HERE!
LOLA:)
What a wonderful photo my friend. π Cute little bird π So colorful π
so beautiful…..im planning to buy a feeder to since we have lots and lots of birds fling around all the time outside my room.
I’d love to have feeders but the wildlife people advised us not to because they will draw the bears to our house. They apparently enjoy birdseed!
What a gorgeous bird feeder for your handsome bird! “Evening Grosbeak Finch” = cool
OMG this is a different finch! Beautiful color! Happy RT!
My Cardinal
The Finch is happy to find such tasty morsels at his talons. Yet he has a stern look, one that seems ready to challenge any interlopers that may have ideas of taking any seed for themselves. Not that he could possibly dine on the whole feeder by himself…
What a thrill to be able to see this happy Finch come to your new feeder!! You inspire us to do the same!! I can’t get to everything I want to do…but a bird feeder at the window…is catching!!
I’m so glad you had a special Mother’s Day! Your kids are so sweet to shower you with love!! I passed you..while heading back to Portland from Bellingham!! We were the car with two Magpie’s in it!! Yap, yap all the way home! The Olympics were outstanding!! My dear kids treated me to some sweet memories, too. And, the love of my life.. gifts me everyday..how’s that? :))
Have a good week!
What a beautiful shot! It would appear you not only serve gourmet grade cuisines to your family, you also treat your feathery friends like royalty! π
Have a great night.
And you captured it beautifully!
Great capture:)/Maria
