Time for an all new challenge! This time around it comes to us by way of our friend Steven. “Look Up/Look Down” is scheduled for Saturday March 13th, 2010. For this one, the perspective is up to you. Link up to the Round Robin Blog to see more of “Look Up” orΒ for the next Photo Challenge which will be in a couple of weeks…
My first two shots are from Pleasanton, California on our roadtrip from Cali to Washington. I looked up and saw this despicable image looking down at me…
but the fact that it’s not the fairest image in the world didn’t keep me from zooming in…
Now on a more serene note…while I was at the Japanese Gardens in Seattle last Saturday I took this shot looking down…
Happy Saturday to you Robins! I’ve seen Robins in my yard this week and I have a goal to capture one in a photo…
If I don’t get to you today it’s because Dear is taking me off for a massage and overnight to celebrate my birthday which is tomorrow! I’ll see you soon…
Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.
Fantastic captures. It pays to be paying attention to what is above and below you. My post will explain that I do not do that very well sometimes.
But, I have to question who would what that Gargoyle on their balcony if it was not for Halloween?
Hi!
Yea, I have to agree that was awful! I wouldn’t want to look at that gargoyle everyday. The fish is pretty. Happy Birthday and enjoy your outing. Have a great day!

What a perfect shot for this challenge–love the gargoyle!
Ellen, just dropping by before taking off to wish you a happy birthday tomorrow. Sounds like you’ll be around for a long time : ))
Love Claudie, count down 4 hours hooray
xoxoxoxo
That is a rather despicable character on that balcony. But, what a great photo find! And, the koi in that pond is always a welcomed sight when visiting gardens.
Hi Ellen π
LOL… Oh my goodness, what a cool image! Scary/spooky monster looking down at you! Glad you had your camera handy. Pleasanton is right in my backyard… well… kinda… so I must take a trip there to see if I can spot the DEVIL! π It will be fun to hunt him down. If possible, drop me a line about where you spotted him, if you can’t no worries, the hunt will be worth the trip. π Well done! LOVE the fishy. So golden. π

Hey Ellen π
Thanks so much for the clues! I will go searching early next week, if I find him, I will post it to my blog and include a link here. How fun, a treasure hunt!!! π Thanks again,
Carly
Happy Birthday, ellen! What a nice gift from your hubby! Enjoy! Your Round Robin photo is great! I’m glad you took a close up of the ugly RED gargoyle! π
First, have a wonderful and happy birthday! Second, oh my! What a looking up photo! That might have scared the bejeebies out of me and cause me to drop my camera! LOL
Thanks
Nice Photos

I missed that one when we were in Pleasanton….I will have to look for it next time. Enjoy your day.
I think he’s more demon than gargoyle, and definitely an unusual sight on that kind of balcony/flowerbox. He’s not exactly a cuddly or friendly character (more a fiendly one), but I like him!
Fun post. You found two perfect subjects for this one. That one is not what you expect to see when you look up…heavenward!
Perfect pictures for the theme!
I love these photo’s. Just perfect my friend π
When I saw the building, I was thinking you were in Leavenworth, WA for the first two photos. When I lived in the Bay Area I didn’t get into Pleasenton often.
Great shots for the challenge.
Yikes! Now that is an interesting up and down! Were you shaking in your boots with the up?

Hahaha ! what a surprise when looking up ! I wish I could have seen your face !
Wow, what a scary thing to spot in looking up! The gargoyle is funny but a great photo subject at the same time. I like the fish, too. Super subjects for the Round Robin Photo Challenge.
Your fish photo shot from above looks better than those I took with an underwater camera I picked up for snorkeling in Hawaii! Good pic’s.
