Welcome to Blue Monday! Smiling Sally is our hostess and you can click on her name and join in or see some more blue from around the world.
My blue today is a combination of sights and purchases over the last 3 weekends. This past Saturday after our walk at the beach where we found all these cool shells, Dear and I headed to Somis, Moorpark and Simi to see what we could see. We are on the hunt for a piece of furniture to fill a space between our living room and dining area at the condo. We want the piece to work both for books and some of my pretties. I’m always a little disappointed when a shop is called a Thrift store but really thinks it’s an Antique store and prices everything accordingly. Do you know what I mean? Can you feel a bargain hunters pain here? I ended up buying this blue oversized creamer at HomeGoods in Simi.
The Shell Beach Sign, Avila Peir sign and the wall mural are all from our trip to the Central California Coast from January 19th. The Amtrak Surfliner is from last weekend in our hometown…
That’s my blue and now I’m off to see your blue! Happy Monday and February to all of you!
Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage unless I pay them a lot of money. I’m slowly cleaning up many posts from this time period and deleting their ugly grey and black boxes with a ransom request. Such a time consuming bother.
Love all your shells and that is a great creamer! Fun blues this week!
Hi, Ellen! Love your blue pitcher. That was worth the trip to Home Goods! So cute! And I love all of your other blueness.
I do know what you mean when a thrift store puts on airs. They need to remove the word “thrift” from their vocabulary if they’re competing with antique shops on price.
But your blue photos are fun, and your pitcher is as cute as can be!
Happy Blue Monday…
XO,
Sheila 🙂
Love the shells and how they go so well with the creamer.
When I was thinking about decorating my livingroom I collected shells at the beach and looked at the color combinations in the shells for inspiration.
Love the blue/white creamer… I wish we had a Home Goods here!
Happy Blue Monday!
Susan 🙂
Great Homegoods find -it’s so pretty! It sounds like you had a great time. I haven’t walked a beach searching for shells in decades. My toes are aching for the sand. ~ Hope you have a Happy Blue Monday! ~ Robyn
That blue creamer is so pretty. Nice how you have it among the shells. I hope you find that piece of furniture you want. Helmi is at again on my craft blog.
Pretty piece and I love your blue today. My hubbs and I love the central coast and he just golfed a tournament at Avila and Pismo beaches just a few months back. We take mini holidays/vacation on the central coast as often as we can :0).
love that creamer!
Love your blue finds especially the blue and white creamer….Christine
I love the pattern on your creamer. I definitely know what you mean about thrift stores thinking they’re antique stores. It just shows they don’t know what they’re doing.
Pretty creamer..and the shells are beautiful.
Thanks for taking me shopping; I’d have bought that darling blue and white creamer too! Happy Blue Monday!
What fun adventures you have been having!!
Have a wonderful day!
Good morning Ellen B.,
The blue signs are the cutest! Don’t you just love English China? It has always been my favorite!
Have a great Monday!
🙂 Cori G.
love the blue and white china pattern… just perfect… and displayed with the sea shells… so beautiful…
have a great Monday. Dixie
Blue ranks high in my fav colors list, and blue and white china is expecially nice. I agree about the prices in some “thrift” shops! Makes me crazy. In my town, the only cheap stuff is absolute junk, but I can drive 30-35 miles and find gorgeous things for less than the junk here.
I know what you mean about “thrift shops”! I wish we had a Home Goods close to me. I go to the one in Fresno when I visit Jeanie.
Sweet creamer! The amtrack surfliner is intriguing. I wonder about the route.
Good luck on finding the furniture piece. I’m sure you need storage for books and “pretties”.
Oh I love your blue dishes. . .such a pretty little photo collection.
I know what you mean about Thrift stores who think they are price themselves like antique stores. And Antique stores that are really just used furniture/junk stores.
I love your finds. I love the picture!
Love that pitcher, Ellen! I hope you are enjoying your day.
Ellen, I just love all of your blue. That pitcher is so pretty. Happy Blue Monday!
I have never been in a HomeGoods but I hear so many posting about this wonderful store. We must not have them in this part of the South? Love your creamer.
Did you have to mention the laundry? I’m ashamed to say I have called the day a “holiday”…and did nothing!
You can’t go wrong with that- it always makes such pretty decor. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Pretty blue pitcher! I’ve never heard of HomeGoods before, perhaps it’s not in the midwest yet?
Thanks for stopping by to see me 🙂
I love your blue pitcher and it is so nicely arranged among your sea shells.
Hugs,
Sweetie
Great ‘blue monday’ decor. And I’m so glad your link is now on the sidebar of the MGCC blog…so I could find your other blog home! I’ll be back to visit again sometime.
Hey Ellen, I love this blue china. Happy Blue Monday to you!
