Aladdin Road

A couple Sundays ago we took a drive up Aladdin Road north to the little town of Northport.

We didn’t encounter too many travelers along the way.

A herd of white cows along the way.

As we drove down into Northport we got a view of the Columbia River.

We drove the same road home with one turnoff to see Deep Lake. Our son lived on Deep lake for several months when he first came to Colville for his job.

More cows on the way home. We stopped and sang to these cows. Some of them liked it.

We had a good weekend with good times with our Colville family and with our church family. I’ll post the progress on the shop roof soon. Our area is heating up this week. How are things in your corner?

  1. Heating up in what way? If we’re talking weather, it was 92° here today, which is plenty warm for me. No idea what you are suggesting with the cows. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Fun that you serenaded some. Funnier still that some of them liked it. I should think they’d all enjoy that.

    • Heating up in real heat as in the mid 90’s. Hard for Dear to work on a steel roof with the sun glaring and heating things up. Anything over 85 is way too hot for me. I got rid of my inside joke since I was the only one who got it. 🙂

  2. Nice drive – thanks for taking us along! It’s been very hot over here. In fact today there were tornado warnings and very unstable weather with damaging winds. After the storm, things seem to have cooled down slightly. Love that you sang to the brown cows – why not those white ones too – lol!

  3. I really don’t understand what’s funny about the asterisked reference even after reading the comments and figuring out what the word is. But the scenery is pretty.

  4. Hello,

Beautiful views from your car ride. I love the farm critters, views of the mountains and lake and the river are lovely. Take care! Have a great new week!

  5. It’s interesting to see the forests of conifer trees, the mountains, the river and the lake. A picturesque area and a nice touch to stop and sing to the cows.

  6. These scenes are gorgeous. Serene!

The cows remind me of something I saw on BBC last night. Apparently, there is a new trend in the Netherlands, hugging cows to relieve stress. It’s true! 😂

  7. I like the thought of you all singing to the cows! What a lovely area to take a drive. We are having extreme heat here now–101 this afternoon and no rain in sight. Take care and stay cool.
