Ruby Tuesday ~ Coeur a la Creme

It’s Ruby Tuesday! Head over to the Mennonite Girls Can Cook blog and you’ll find the recipe for this wonderful creamy dessert and to see who won our cookbook. Then click over to the Work of the Poet to see more Ruby entries for Ruby Tuesday. Here’s another Ruby for you!

I spotted this ruby on Eastlake in Seattle. We were eating across the street at Eastlake Bar and Grill.

Hope you are all having a good week. The beginning of this week has been very busy for me. I’m looking forward to a slower end to the week!

  1. I have never heard of this dessert. It seems like it would be kind of like a cheesecake???? Looking at the strawberries is making me long for spring when real berries return to our area.

  2. I love coeur a la creme… though I’ve not made it before… Yours looks so lovely for Valentine’s, Ellen–love the strawberry garnishes! :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))

  3. I went over for a look – divine! I haven’t yet decided what I’ll make for dessert on the 14th, but that will be a contender.

    • Any sieve would work. You need something that allows the mixture to drain overnight. You wouldn’t have the fun heart shape but it still will look good in a dessert cup. The heart shaped molds are available on line. I bought mine at Sur la table here in Seattle and then I found a second one at Goodwill.

  4. That is a decadently sweet-looking dessert!

    A DAMSEL WHO LOVED SHADES OF RED

    A damsel who loved shades of red
    Discovered she’d been sore misled;
    She had no more rose,
    Nor blush for her nose—
    If she finds the thief, the guy’s dead!
