Farewell February!

To send you off I’ll share some favorites from your last week. It was a nice mix of busy and quiet. Thank you Susanne for keeping us thinking about things we should be grateful for.

Bok Home Show

1. Last Friday Katie and I met Dear downtown and enjoyed a Happy Hour meal together and then a short drive to the Seattle Home Show. We had a good time talking to different vendors and seeing some new home products at the show.

crows 0063. We’ve had some nice dry sunny days in a row this week and I was able to get out and do a little trimming and cleaning up of some beds. I’m always grateful for some extra light in the day!

P10407344. Although this photo isn’t from this past Sunday, this group was together with us for brunch here at our home and we had such a wonderful time getting caught up with each other and sharing the latest greatest. The food was good, too. Dear made his Swedish Pancakes and we had fresh strawberries and bacon to go with the fresh off the griddle pancakes.

panels 0015. A new look for our living room windows. Little changes are good every once in a while.

My bonus favorite this week is that our son Dan is arriving on Friday with his girlfriend to spend a couple nights and several meals with us. It’s been fun stocking the refrigerator and making one of Dan’s favorites for his time here this weekend.

What are your plans for the weekend?

  1. It was fun to see your last week of February! I think it is always a good thing to focus on the blessings He has given!

I love your new window treatments…and yes, I absolutely love a change now and then. I am making some long overdue changes in the master bedroom right now. It’s also nice to see the smiling faces in your photos!

Have a great weekend with your company! (Don’t we mamas love when our chicks come home to roost?) 🙂

  2. Such a nice way to end February! You’ve got me curious now as to what is Dan’s favourite meal. My weekend plans include a quilt piecing class tomorrow, visiting a local Garden show (sure to lift one’s weary Winter blues), and keeping the woodstove fire going – we are still in a very deep freeze over here!

  3. Beautiful memories being made, your window treatments look so refreshing, I have been thinking some new ones might brighten my windows. Enjoy your visit with your son and his girlfriend. Our grandson and his fiancee were here las weekend, I so enjoyed preparing dinner and baking his favorite cake for his birthday.

  4. I have not been to a home show but ought to investigate one. Sounds fun!

Looks like you had some good get-togethers this week, along with the one you’re expecting today!

I haven’t been outside much but I have enjoyed extra sunshine this week, too.

  5. I really like your window treatment! It’s looks very nice! We are finally getting our bookcase we ordered tomorrow and I can get books off the floor. I am very excited!

  6. What a nice week ! We never meet for breakfast here in Belgium, it’s rather for lunch. It’s even hard to find a restaurant which serves breakfasts ! Poor English and American tourists !
